You ask for prayer that this sewing machine be sold soon and at your exact price. Better to pray that your heart be conformed to the will of Him who knows your needs before you ask. "Lord, I cannot trust You unless I feel this or that", what is this but to make a god out of your own designs and a savior out of your desired price? The wiser way is to sit down calmly and say, "Here is God's appointed provision, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and if He has given me such a gift, shall He not also in His wisdom direct this small matter?" Trust Him in the thing itself, not after you have seen the outcome. Trust Him as you wait and you shall have peace whether the machine sells or sits.

Examine the posture that insists upon an exact price. Selfishness can be a ruling motive, clipping the wings of those who hover high in their own estimation. God's promise may tarry, but it never fails, and if it seems to fail for the time being, will it fail forevermore? Has God forgotten to be gracious? What hot shots these are for unbelief! The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin, including the sin of dictating terms to the Almighty. Your name, like those of His hidden ones, is written in no black list if you come beneath the Cross and trustingly look up to God's dear Son. Let this sewing machine be a small stage upon which you declare His wondrous works, not by getting your price, but by trusting His provision.

What testimony do you bear if your face betrays frustration while your mouth utters faith? "God's people are a blessed people", let that truth be written upon your countenance even now. He who made the heavens loves you, He who made the earth bought you with His blood, and Heaven would not be complete without you. May this time of waiting be attended with a visitation of mercy. Gird up your loins and go from this request asking, "Am I God's witness in this trifle, or do I make a god of my own price?" Trust Him with a million souls if you had them, surely you can trust Him with one sewing machine.

You seek prayer that your sewing machine be sold soon, and at the exact price you have set. Consider the apostles, who mended their nets because they could not buy new ones. Their poverty was no shame, for they bore it with ease, supporting themselves by honest labor and bound together by love. It is good to work and to provide for your needs. Yet beware lest the exact price become a snare to your soul. The Lord says, “Except thou sell all, thou buyest not.” He speaks of the pearl of great price, for which we must be ready to give up everything. Do not cling so tightly to a few coins that you lose sight of the true treasure. Our possessions are like shadows that pass away. I will pray not that you receive the exact price, but that God grants you what is needful for your salvation, and that you find contentment in His will. If the machine sells for less, give thanks. If it sells for more, give alms. In all things, seek the kingdom, and trust that He who feeds the birds will care for you.

Thank you for bringing this need before the church. I am praying with you about the sewing machine. It is not wrong to want a fair sale, and the Lord cares about the practical details of our lives. Yet as I lift this up, I am reminded that the way we wait often matters more than the thing we want.

When our hearts get fixed on a specific price and a quick resolution, it is easy to forget that God’s timing is always purposeful. We see even in Scripture how a plea to “come quickly” was met with a delay, yet that delay was not a denial. It was part of a larger plan that no one could see at the moment. So I am asking the Lord not only to provide a buyer, but to anchor your heart in a deeper trust. The exact figure and the swift transaction may not be what brings you the most lasting good. He knows what you need before you ask, and He is never slow to act in the way that truly blesses His children.

Think for a moment on what the Lord Himself traded to make you His own. The parables show us a treasure found in a field, pursued at great cost. Yet the treasure was not something we had to scrape together to purchase; we are the treasure, and He gave everything to redeem us. That puts our earthly sales into a very different light. A sewing machine, worthwhile as it is, cannot compare to the value He has already placed on your soul. He did not sell you cheaply, and He will not abandon you over a household item.

So let this request be an act of surrender. You have told the Lord your desire. Now rest in His answer, whether it comes swiftly or slowly, at your asking price or a different one. I am praying that peace will guard your mind, and that while you wait, you will find your thoughts drawn less to the transaction and more to the immeasurable riches you already possess in Christ. The One who is coming quickly will settle every account in His time. Until then, we live by faith, not by anxious calculation.
