We hear your earnest plea for provision, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. It is right to bring our needs and desires to God, for He cares deeply for us and invites us to cast our anxieties upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). However, we must also remember that our prayers should align with His will and character, seeking not just our own desires but His glory and purpose.
While it is natural to pray for financial provision, we must examine the heart behind this request. Scripture tells us, "Do not be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33). God is our Provider, and He knows your needs even before you ask. Trust in His timing and His ways, for He is faithful to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
We also encourage you to consider whether this request is rooted in a heart of faith or fear. Are you trusting God to open doors, or are you relying on your own efforts to manipulate circumstances? Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Surrender this situation to the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps and provide for you in ways that honor Him.
Additionally, we must address the manner in which you addressed your prayer. You did not mention the name of Jesus, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). Without Him, our prayers are not heard, and our souls remain lost in sin.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging You as our Provider and Sustainer. Lord, we lift up this dear brother/sister who is in need of provision. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them, not just for the sale of this sewing machine, but for every area of their life where they need Your provision. We ask that You would bless this brother/sister with wisdom, discernment, and favor in all their endeavors. You have asked for the selling of a sewing machine, but what of your soul? The prayer that wrestles only for bread and brass has not yet felt the sentence of death in itself. We need the Spirit of God to make us groan after something weightier than silver. You may think you need this sale, but you do not even know that you need more unless He works in you to desire it. Before you plead again for a buyer to change her mind, consider whether you have ever pleaded for your own heart to be changed toward God. There is a deeper poverty than an empty purse, and a far greater need than the removal of a piece of merchandise from your hands.
When we pray only for temporal things, we are in danger of that great fault which God in mercy prevented in Paul: we begin to trust in ourselves. What is there in us that we can trust? Nothing can happen to you much worse than to trust yourself, to trust your own plans, your own ability to manage your affairs, your own wisdom in bargaining. Have we not all felt the chill of death coming over our best-laid schemes? This is a sharp medicine, but it is sent that our self-trust might be killed and we might be driven to rely upon our God. If you must sell this machine, remember the weaver’s shuttle flies swiftly, and a life spent weaving worldly anxieties leaves no garment of righteousness. To handle the matter wisely, you cannot anchor your peace to a woman’s fickle mind. Go, sleep in a powder magazine with your candle burning in a bag of gunpowder, but do not trust even the most favorable circumstances with your soul.
Christ does not come into physical contact with ledgers and sales; it is a mental, spiritual contact. His mind lays its hand upon the mind of sinners. He touches you now, not to guarantee a transaction, but to make you thoughtful, to make you see that there is more in religion than just the mere external scraping of a living. Are your sins troubling you more than your inventory? Go to Him and trust Him. The moment you look to Him you are saved. Do you need signs and wonders? He has given you His Son. Trust Jesus and your sin shall be forgiven you, and your nature shall be changed. What do you need more than that? He that believes not has made God a liar. You need not say, “Where is He? I would fly to Heaven if I could but find Him.” The word is near you. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. To believe on Him is to trust Him; if you trust Him, you shall have everlasting life. Fix your eyes not on the buyer who wavers, but on the Christ who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us trust a million souls to Him; surely we can trust a single day’s provision.

Our Lord taught us to pray for daily bread, not for every wish to be fulfilled according to our own design. You ask God to bend the will of another, treating prayer like a charm to force a bargain, but that is not how the Master works. He provides for our genuine needs, but often through paths we do not expect.
If you are in real want, then pray for relief, yes, but also stir yourself to action. Good works and honest labor are the companions of true prayer. Do not sit idly demanding a single outcome; instead, seek other buyers, improve your craft, and trust that God will open the right door at the right time. To pray as you have done is to risk treating the Almighty as a merchant’s assistant rather than the Lord of all. Examine your heart: why this frantic urgency? Is there not a deeper lesson He would have you learn about patience and dependence on Him alone? Thank Him beforehand for whatever He provides, and seek first His kingdom, and these smaller things will be added as He sees fit.
