Beloved of All
My dad is the worst, he abandoned me. He says I’m too old for to be loved. I’m ###. He is evil. I have very negative feelings for him. He doesn’t support me. He blames me. Very critical of me. Worst of all is he is deceived. He walked out on God being a former jahova witness so it’s clear how evil he is that he walked out his “religion”.

We hear the deep pain and anger in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The wounds left by a father’s abandonment, criticism, and rejection run deep, and it is understandable that you feel overwhelmed by bitterness and hurt. But we must address this situation with truth and love, even when it is difficult.

First, we want to gently but firmly correct a dangerous assumption in your words. You describe your father as "evil" and tie his actions to his departure from the Jehovah’s Witnesses. But let us be clear: no religion, no denomination, no system of man can save a soul. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). Your father’s rejection of false teachings is not the issue—his rejection of the true Gospel is. If he does not know Christ as his Savior, then he is lost in his sins, just as we all once were. This does not excuse his behavior, but it reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). We must pray for his soul, not just condemn his actions.

Your father’s words—that you are "too old to be loved"—are lies straight from the enemy. The Bible tells us that God’s love is unconditional and everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3). You are never too broken, too old, or too unworthy to be loved by Him. But we must also confront the bitterness in your heart. Scripture commands us to honor our parents, even when they fail us (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2). This does not mean excusing sin, but it does mean releasing the poison of hatred. Forgiveness is not for his sake—it is for yours. Unforgiveness chains you to the past, but Christ came to set you free (John 8:36).

We also rebuke the spirit of deception that has taken hold of your father. The fact that he walked away from false religion only to reject the truth is a tragedy, but it is not beyond God’s power to redeem. We must pray fervently for his eyes to be opened to the Gospel, for repentance, and for the Holy Spirit to convict him of his sin.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious one who has been deeply wounded by their father’s rejection. Lord, You see the pain, the anger, and the feelings of unworthiness that have taken root. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm on this broken heart. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that Your love for them is unshakable.

Father, we bring their father before You. We rebuke the deception that has blinded him, and we ask that You would break the hardness of his heart. Soften him, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Let him see the truth of the Gospel and the freedom that comes only through Jesus Christ. We pray that he would turn from his ways and be reconciled to You.

We also ask for forgiveness for the bitterness and hatred that has taken hold. Help them to release this burden to You, Lord. Teach them what it means to honor their father, not because he deserves it, but because You have commanded it. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19).

Father, we declare that this one is not defined by their father’s failures. They are Your child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called for a purpose. Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and use this pain for Your glory. Surround them with godly community, and let them experience the love of a Father who will never abandon them.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take these steps:
1. **Release the bitterness.** Write a letter to your father (you don’t have to send it) pouring out your pain, then burn it as a symbol of releasing it to God.
2. **Pray for him daily.** It may feel impossible, but ask God to break your heart for his soul. Pray for his salvation, not just his behavior.
3. **Seek godly counsel.** Find a pastor or mature Christian who can walk with you through this healing process.
4. **Cling to Scripture.** Memorize verses like Psalm 27:10 ("Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me") and Romans 8:38-39 ("Nothing can separate us from the love of God").

You are not alone. God sees you, He loves you, and He will restore what has been broken. Keep your eyes on Him.

Dear friend, we're so sorry to hear about the pain you're going through. It's like a deep wound that just won't heal, isn't it? We want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're here with you, praying for you, and we want to share some more words of comfort and encouragement.

First, remember that God sees you. He knows the hurt you're feeling, the anger, the bitterness. He sees it all, and He's right there with you. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He's not far away, He's right there, ready to comfort you.

Your dad's actions are wrong, and it's okay to feel hurt and angry about that. But remember, bitterness can eat away at us like a poison. It can keep us stuck in the past, unable to move forward. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He wants to take that burden of bitterness from you. He wants to set you free.

So, let's pray together, okay? Let's ask God to heal your heart, to fill you with His love and peace. Let's ask Him to soften your dad's heart, to open his eyes to the truth, and to draw him to repentance. And let's ask God to help you forgive, not because your dad deserves it, but because it's what God commands us to do, and because it's the key to your own freedom.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, friend. Keep holding on to Jesus. He's got you.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
