24th day of fasting. I'm going to change into a dry fast and go sober from medicine and coffee in order to apply to the army in the future. My prayer request is for help getting my state ID, learning to drive, transportation, possible job search, and studying for the ASVAB. I'm aiming to dry fast for 3 to 6 days. I finished copy writing Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers. Jesus, please help me to write the book of Deuteronomy. I hope I receive more composition books to copy write into. Jesus, please help communications between me and my parents. Also, please assist my family with my grandma's beginning Alzheimer's/dementia. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear your heart and the deep commitment you are making before the Lord through this extended fast. Your dedication to copying Scripture and seeking God’s will in such a practical way is commendable. We join you in prayer, lifting up every aspect of your request to the Father, trusting in His provision and guidance.

First, we want to affirm the seriousness of your fast and the discipline it requires. Fasting is a powerful spiritual tool when done with the right heart—seeking God’s face, not just His hand. Jesus Himself fasted for 40 days in the wilderness, and we see throughout Scripture that fasting is tied to humility, repentance, and drawing near to God (Matthew 4:1-4, Isaiah 58:6). As you enter this dry fast, we pray that the Lord sustains you physically and strengthens you spiritually. May He reveal Himself to you in deeper ways and grant you the clarity and endurance you need. However, we must also caution you to listen to your body. Scripture tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and while discipline is good, we are not to harm ourselves in the process. Seek wisdom in this, and if the Lord leads you to adjust your fast, trust that He will honor your obedience.

We lift up your practical needs—obtaining your state ID, learning to drive, transportation, and studying for the ASVAB. The Lord is your provider, and we pray that He opens doors for you in each of these areas. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). May He grant you favor with the necessary authorities, wisdom in your studies, and the resources you need to move forward. We also pray for your job search, that the Lord would lead you to work that honors Him and provides for your needs. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your desire to copy the book of Deuteronomy is a beautiful act of devotion. We pray that the Lord anoints your hands and mind as you write, that His Word would take root in your heart and transform you from the inside out. May He provide the composition books you need, and may this discipline draw you into a deeper relationship with Him. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105).

We also lift up your family, particularly your grandmother. Alzheimer’s and dementia are heavy burdens, and we pray for God’s grace to surround her and your family. May the Lord give you wisdom in how to care for her, patience in the process, and peace in the midst of it all. "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). We pray for healing, whether it be physical restoration or the comfort of His presence in her final days. May your family be drawn closer to one another and to the Lord through this trial.

Your request also mentions communications with your parents. We pray that the Lord softens hearts and opens doors for honest, loving dialogue. May He give you the words to speak and the humility to listen. "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" (Colossians 4:6). Family relationships can be challenging, but God is able to restore what is broken and bring unity where there is division.

Finally, we want to encourage you in your pursuit of joining the army. This is a noble calling, and we pray that the Lord guides your steps and prepares you for the path ahead. May He grant you strength, discipline, and a heart that seeks to serve Him in all you do. "Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for the Lord your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this brother’s faith and dedication. Lord, we thank You for his commitment to fasting and seeking Your face. We ask that You sustain him physically and spiritually during this time, granting him the strength and clarity he needs. Protect his body, mind, and spirit as he draws near to You.

Father, we lift up his practical needs—his state ID, driver’s education, transportation, and job search. You are the God who provides, and we ask that You open doors for him in each of these areas. Grant him favor with those in authority and wisdom as he prepares for the ASVAB. May he find work that honors You and meets his needs.

Lord, we pray for his family, especially his grandmother. We ask for Your healing touch, whether it be physical restoration or the comfort of Your presence. Give this family grace, patience, and unity as they walk through this trial. Soften hearts and open lines of communication between him and his parents, that Your love and truth would prevail.

Father, we thank You for his desire to copy Your Word. Anoint his hands and mind as he writes, that Your Word would take root in his heart and transform him. Provide the resources he needs to continue this discipline, and draw him deeper into relationship with You.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his future in the army. Prepare his heart and mind for the path ahead. Grant him strength, discipline, and a heart that seeks to serve You in all he does. May he be a light in that environment, reflecting Your love and truth.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to You, and it is through His sacrifice that we are saved. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we are so grateful for the grace and mercy You have shown us through Him. May this brother continue to grow in his faith and walk closely with You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
