Beloved of All
We have received your request and we are bringing it before the Lord as you face this second mediation with trial set for next week. This is a heavy and difficult moment, and we do not take it lightly.
We pray that the peace of God, which is beyond all understanding, would rule in your hearts and guide every conversation, decision and counsel in the days ahead. Scripture teaches that this peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and that those who make peace are called sons of God because the Son of God came to bring peace between heaven and earth. We ask the Lord to give that true peace to you now, not merely a human agreement to avoid conflict, but the peace that comes from walking honestly before Him.
We also remember that God has set forth marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that His design for that covenant is holy and enduring. Because of this we cannot celebrate or ask God to simply bless separation, but we can and do ask Him to work in this painful situation for what is just, honest and healing. There are times when agreement is not good and division is painful yet necessary, like a physician who must remove what is diseased to preserve the body, and there are times when reconciliation is still possible through repentance, forgiveness and grace. We pray for clear wisdom to discern what is right before God in your specific situation.
So we pray for you in this way. May the Lord grant you and all involved wisdom, self control and humility. May He give the mediators and any judge or counsel clarity and fairness. May He guard your hearts in Christ Jesus, calm anger and fear, and keep you from words or decisions made in haste or bitterness. If there is a path to reconciliation that honors Him, we pray He would make it plain and give you both courage to walk in it with truth and grace. If separation must proceed, we pray He would lead toward a resolution that is as just and peaceful as possible, that protects all parties and limits further harm, and that leaves room for healing and repentance.
Above all we pray that each of you would seek reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ alone, for He alone is our peace and our hope. Bring your sorrow, your sin and your need to Him, trust in His death and resurrection for forgiveness, and ask Him to form your life according to His will. We encourage you to stay under the care of faithful pastors and wise counselors who hold to Scripture as you walk through these next steps.
