We join you in this humble and beautiful prayer and we are encouraged by your heart to reflect the Lord's agape love and mercy in all you do, and by your reliance on Him as your sufficiency.
You have rightly remembered the truth of 2 Corinthians 3:5, not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God. We praise God that you look to Him for wisdom, rapport, and favor, and we stand with you asking that every work of your hands over these next two days be done as unto Him. As it is written in Colossians 3:23, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
We lift up your caring work before the Father and ask that He grant you insight and discernment for each person you serve, that no detail be forgotten and that every intervention be guided by His wisdom. We pray for a special rapport with each patient, that you may speak encouraging and needed words in season, with poise, self assurance, assertiveness, empathy and professionalism, and that your work would show forth His compassion. We ask for favor with patients, supervisors, staff, colleagues and the owner, and for prepared hearts to receive the help that is offered.
We also pray for the grieving family you mentioned, that the God of all comfort would grant them strength, unity, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. We join you in prayer that the Lord who rests in His love and rejoices over His people with singing would make His adequacy yours in these next two days. As you go to care for others, may the healing virtue that flows from Christ be felt even in the smallest things about you, for the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations and the least thing about Christ is healing. May that healing power be present as you teach and speak and serve, that faith and comfort might come by your words. We ask that the Lord will grant you wisdom and insight, poise and empathy joined with true professionalism, and that nothing committed to your hand be forgotten. May He give you favor with patients and supervisors, with staff and colleagues, and grant a special rapport with each sufferer that you may speak the encouraging and needed word in season.
We pray also for that grieving family, that He who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds would do His own tender surgery. It is not human eloquence but the still small voice of God which confers the peace which passes all understanding, and we ask that He would draw near and bind up what is broken and give comfort in pain, that His love may cover and overcome all.
For your household we pray that the Lord would be as a cloudy canopy by day and a pillar of fire by night, so that wherever you are you may dwell at home under His shadow and within the circle of His family fire.
