Marriage Prayer: Psalm 1

Dear Lord,

We pray that we would not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit with the scornful. We pray that we would delight in Your law and would meditate on it day and night. Make us like trees planted by streams of water that produce much fruit, and whose leaves never wither. We pray that we would seek after You with all of our hearts, minds, souls and strength.

In Jesus’ name, amen!

Marriage Prayer: Praying For Marriages

Dear Lord,

Thank you for marriage. We thank You for giving us someone to go through life with. We ask that you bless husbands and wives, maturing us and growing us into the spouses you have called us to be. Help us to love one another with genuine love. Give wives a desire for their husbands and give husbands passion for their wives. May Your peace surround us and calm any storms that come to distract or test us. Holy Spirit, please lead us and help us to judge wisely. We submit our ways to...

Marriage Prayer: Controlling Our Temper

Dear Lord,

Please help us to be in control of our temper. There are times that it flares up, times that we get really frustrated, times that we can feel anger burn inside of me. We pray for patience. We pray for wisdom. Please help us to be men and women who have control over their emotions. We pray we don’t unleash our temper on one another or our family. Transform us in this area and renew our hearts and our attitude.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Marriage Prayer: Do Not Be Anxious

Dear Lord,

We pray for husbands and wives to lean not on their own understanding about things in this life, but would rather lean on Yours. God help them to not be anxious for anything. We pray that in everything, every situation, every joy and pain, that they would lift their request to You with thanksgiving. God, You hear their cries. Lord, remind them that You have promised to take care of their needs.

In Jesus’ name, amen!

Marriage Prayer: Not Causing My Spouse To Stumble

Dear Lord,

You say in Your word that wives must respect and submit to their husbands as they submit to Christ, and that husbands must love their wives as Christ loves the Church. We pray that as husbands and wives, we would not cause our spouse to stumble in this command. We pray that we would cultivate an environment of love, safety, security, purity and encouragement, so that each of us has an easier time following their role as husband or wife.

In Jesus’ name, amen!

Marriage Prayer: Serve The Lord

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this life You have given us. Thank you for this marriage and our children. Lord, You are good, but You are also to be feared. We pray that we would always be in awe of You. You are the one that can throw body and spirit into the pit of fire. You are the one who created the universe and everything in it. You are the one that formed us in our mother’s womb. Lord, You are the only one to be feared. We will serve you always.

In Jesus’ name, amen!
