"MY PRODIGAL IS DOUBLE-MINDED!" The foremost question on the heart of any prodigal whoever gives thought to returning home is a simple one: "What's different now?" It does not matter if you are separated because of adultery, abuse, alcoholism, or any of the rest of the alphabet of causes, your spouse wants to know what has changed so that this nightmare will not repeat itself. Most standers make the mistake of volunteering what is different, reciting to their prodigal about a closer walk with the Lord and how much He has changed them. Your absent spouse does not want to hear your words; he or she wants to observe the changes. "Me change?" someone is thinking. "My spouse was the one who committed adultery, not me. Let them change!" You...

What a Friend we have in Jesus Have you ever felt that no one cares about you or understands you? Have you ever looked for that unconditional love and it seems to always to leave you hurt and brokenhearted, depressed and alone? Have you ever needed to be comforted and no one was there? Have the cares of this world just left you empty and lost? Have you ever felt that things were so bad there was no where to turn? There is an answer…but it is not of this world! His name is Jesus. He is everything that we have been looking for in this World but could not find. The Love we look for can only be found through a relationship with Jesus. HE cares about you regardless what you have been in your life or what you have done. He loves us...
A few things are coming to mind as I read you post and all except the physical abuse I can really relate to. I did not take therapy before I got married because I knew I would not have married him. I love him more now than when we got married and that is only because I choose to love him. Well that is part of it. I remember when I was going through some really hard times and I told a friend well look at Hosea's love for Gomer. He stopped me before I could say anything else and told me to go reread it again. Did you know that nowhere in the book of Hosea does it ever say that he loved Gomer? We as always try to add our human perception to make the story make sense. The truth of the matter was that Hosea loved God and was obedient. I...
An elderly lady was asleep in her bed one night, when she was awakened by a strange noise from the living room. Cautiously, she walked in and discovered a burglar in the process of stealing the stereo. Overcome with fear, she whispered a desperate prayer, "Help me Jesus!" The burglar heard her and started towards her. Without a thought she put up her hand and shouted a favorite scripture reference: ACTS 2:38! The burglar immediately froze. The lady dialed 911, and within minutes, police were on the scene, and took the burglar to the police station. As the police were questioning him, one of the detectives said, "I'm curious, you could have ran and got away, why did you stay frozen in that one spot?" The burglar answered, "Man...
JESUS - I AM "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" John 8:58 On this Lord’s Day I pray that you will go to church and worship the King of Kings. Does your church have a Bible Study class on Sunday morning or possibly another night of the week? Be sure to try to attend a Bible study class to learn more about God’s Word and learn how to apply the Bible to your life and marriage. Have you developed a special quiet time with your Lord, reading your Bible and praying every day? I love to read the Bible. But before you start reading God’s Word, ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual eyes and ears to hear the Lord’s message for you that day. Ask the Holy Spirit to mold and shape you into the...
PRIDE GOES BEFORE DESTRUCTION Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 Do you know of someone who has pride? You may be thinking of your spouse or someone who is very successful, but I am asking you to search your own heart today. Ask the Lord to reveal to you if you have any pride in your heart that you may not even be aware of during this difficult time in your life and marriage. What is the meaning of pride? The Nelson's Three-In-One Bible Reference Companion says: a conceited sense of one's superiority. In The American College Dictionary the meaning of pride reads: high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as...
CBN.com – “One more thing before you go…†An hour and a half in church last Sunday wasn’t going by fast enough. My beloved pastor was going on about the power of the Holy Spirit. It was a topic I’d heard before, and truthfully, I was itching to get out of there. Just a few days prior, Passion conference leader Louie Giglio was the subject of our college and career ministry night. The discussion on Jesus truly satisfying the soul was still a debate in my heart. It just didn’t seem possible. I knew the Lord was good, but the complications of life were just too much to get all "Pollyanna" about my faith. In hopes of gaining some understanding, I tried to connect the two sermons. Louie says Jesus satisfies us. Pastor says the...

BE STILL - KNOW THAT I AM GOD Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.†Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.†Exodus 14:13-16 Are you afraid of your future? Does marriage restoration appear to be hopeless? You see no signs of repentance, forgiveness, healing or restoration from your spouse. So what are you to do? Are you thinking of giving up? Are you...
