I had prayed for months to be able to work from home and be there for my daughter, and He gave that to me. I was blessed enough to work from home for almost a year. Not long ago, I was stressing over surgery bills and wondering how I was going to get through having more expenses than income. I applied at all of the law firms and continued to pray for God to show me what to do. I felt certain He didn't send me home to raise my daughter only for a year and then send me out to be away from her again. I got a call from one of the firms, the main one I did not want to work with. I worked with them for 1.5 months and it told me everything I needed to know. Yes, I needed to keep praying and stay home. It helped me catch up on bills but it was...
I came from a musical family. My mother played the piano and organ, my older sister played the clarinet, my older brother played guitar, my younger brother played drums, and my younger sister and I played the trumpet. I took a little saxophone in high school, only because the band director needed a sax player and I knew the fingering because it was the same as my sister’s clarinet. My mother had my two sisters and me singing just as soon as we could carry a tune. She taught us to harmonize and after a while, it became “second nature†to us. She would have us sing for hours and every time someone would come to visit, we had to sing for them. This carried on to my aunt who, every time she would see us, would call us over to a piano...
ARE YOU ON A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY WITH THE LORD? - Part 2 God created marriage and hates divorce. Our world and churches are compromising God's standards by winking at the consequences of divorce to our families, to our children, to our loved ones, to our churches and to society. The church as a whole is not being the “Critical Care Unit†for the couples who have wounded, hurting and broken hearts, whose marriages are in trouble as the enemy, Satan, is attacking the churches around the world. Let us pray that all churches will start having a group of prayer warriors or intercessors to pray for the sick, all healthy and hurting marriages and the leaders of the church. Let us pray that the men of God will stand up and proclaim from the...
ARE YOU ON A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY WITH THE LORD? - Part 1 Will you go on a Spiritual Journey with your Lord? Are you needing to get serious about praying, standing and believing that God can and wants to heal, restore and resurrect your dead marriage? You may be needing to start a new walk with the Lord or you may be doing a self-examination of where you are spiritually with the Lord God already. Let me share two scriptures that show us the importance of our marriage. May you not be deceived about the severe consequences for every family member who has to go through your and your husband/wife’s divorce. Your children will have to deal with your divorce for their whole life on holidays and all their special occasions. If God hates...
WHAT WOULD BE DIFFERENT? Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 There are a host of benefits to the one-flesh relationship that God creates between a husband and wife through marriage. There are even greater benefits of that relationship to a couple who are in ministry together. If you have been communicating with Rejoice Marriage Ministries for any length of time, the odds are that Charlyne and I can put our heads together and recall things about you and your marriage without benefit of the computer. Nevertheless, we still have in our database the names of tens of thousands of families who have...
Prepare the Soil Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 The weather here has finally warmed enough for the farmers to get in their fields to plant. Tractors are running, dust is flying, seed is being sown. It seems like the landscape has changed almost overnight. But not every farmer has been able to get their planting done. Some are still getting fields ready, some are still discing, some are still spraying. You see, there are many steps that need to come BEFORE the planting can take place. Just because the weather is warm, doesn’t mean the soil is ready. My son-in-law is...
GOD’S AMAZING GRACE! To the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:6-8 When I think of the word grace, I think of the song Amazing Grace, written by John Newton. John was only 11 years old when he left school to start his life as a rough seaman. He became a slave trader by capturing natives from West Africa in the 1700's and they were sold as salves to markets around the world. But by God's grace, God got Newton's attention. One day the grace of God put fear into the heart of this wicked slave trader through a...
