THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load. Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to...
WHAT ARE YOU SPEAKING? A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered. Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue. Proverbs 17:27-28 Do you have control over your tongue and speech? Do you have to have the last word in a discussion or in an argument? Are you a listener or are you ready to interrupt or defend yourself? Years ago and yes, sometimes even now, I just have to say one more sentence to try to prove or explain my point at that moment, when silence would have been much better. Can you relate? He who answers before listening-- that is his folly and his shame. Proverbs 18:13 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to...
THE FATHER OF COMPASSION & COMFORT Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Do you need to be comforted today? Are you a mother who is hurting due to no communication from your husband this Mother’s Day? Are you a father who possibly did not hear from your children this past weekend at all? The Lord knows your pain and the rejection that you have had to go through on a very special weekend. Allow the Lord to put His arms around you this week to comfort you as He is truly the only One who can comfort you perfectly. He...
HIS TIME, NOT MINE My stand began by pure direction from God. My husband and I had been having a rough time for quite a while. I knew the answer was to go back to church but our three busy children had become our focus. Mean and unkind words were thrown at one another daily. My husband works out of town so I allowed Satan and his demons to dwell in me and they concocted a whole string of insecurities. I accused my loving husband of always cheating on me, nothing was ever good enough and I could do this on my own. I threatened divorce often - I didn't need him! I could not have been more wrong. He told me about a month before Christmas he could no longer do this. I was in disbelief! He thought that was what I wanted. Even though I...
HOW MUCH DO YOU TRUST GOD? “O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.†2 Samuel 7:28-29 Last Tuesday morning my wife and I were doing devotions together, a blessing in itself. Charlyne wanted to read a verse in another translation so she picked up my burgundy Bible, sat back down and started turning to a specific verse. I do not think I really heard the verse Charlyne was reading. Observing that particular Bible opened and lying in my wife’s lap, I had...
I have been thinking and praying long and hard lately. I have a strong desire to help young people especially young ladies to get closer to God. It wont be long before God will come back and we need to be ready. So many people are lost and I feel God is using me to get through to young ladies. I was once lost but by the grace of God I am saved. As a woman myself I understand some of the obstacles that they are facing. As a Christian woman I cannot turn my back on them. They need our help and prayers. Some just dont know God and believe that he will save them. We have to teach them about God NOW. Time is running out. How can we call ourselves saved and Christians if we dont help them.
Come unto words before you...for this too has been told of...it is said, those that doubt...let them doubt.... those that believe...let them believe...it is said, it shall come 'to be'...vacant of one...they shall come to know of one but not of the two, for there shall be only one...this too has been told of...
Why is this life so hard? It seems as though my life gets harder and harder everyday. I long for the day that I can say that I am happy and at peace. My heart ache's with an unquenchable pain. The days of my joy are few and far in between. Yes, I know that things could be worse, but I am so tired. My spirit is weary, my mind wanders and worries all the time. When will I receive peace. Will it be when I see Jesus? Will I see Him? I feel as though peace is far from me. I'm most happy when I sleep. Its God's will that I wake every morning. I'm alone and lonely. I'm miserable in my own skin. Where is the joy that the bible speaks of? Should I be content with this life? Should I expect nothing and be content with it? I think so...
