What To Do When Everything Seems To Go Wrong Acts 16:16-34 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. And this she did many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, And brought them to the magistrates...
(Judges 7:2-7) “The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’ †So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained. But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.†So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps...
IS THE MORAL LAW OF GOD, OR TEN COMMANDMENTS, VALID TO UPHOLD IN THE NEW COVENANT? By Bibleman Now that we are under the New Covenant is it still valid to uphold the moral Law of God, which is the Ten Commandments? Are the Commandments still valid under the New Covenant or have they been abolished by Christ at Calvary? If the Law of God is part of the New Covenant how does it apply to Christians today? Some churches, today, teach the Commandments of God while others claim they were nailed to the cross and abolished. Let us delve into the Word of God and learn from Christ and His followers to see if we can determine the validity and significance of the Law of God for the New Covenant Christian believer! One night a reverand was coming home from a service and had a bottle of wine he'd been drinking and brought it into the car with him on the way home. So, all of a sudden he gets pulled over by the highway cop, and the cop realizes he knows the reverand from church and notices a bottle of wine in the car.. he says rev u've been drinking? ..Rev says oh nah, that's just water in the bottle. well the cops says ok, well lemme see it then.., he takes a whiff of it and notices it's wine..he says now c'mon rev, u said this is water but this is wine..then the rev said Oh Hallelujah! Jesus did it again!
ASK NOT WHAT GOD CAN DO FOR YOU...BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR GOD. A statement with profound implications...believe it. A paradox shall many times reveal parables which appear contrary to how one comprehends. It can only be shared from here and the difference it has made in this life...believe it. Over much time it has been learned from here...experience can only be shared. Much has been shared, but with firm belief...the most powerful and meaningful words are just this...WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR GOD. For when one truly makes a commitment to this thought each day, one shall come to know of the gift of the 'comforter' within. For is this not God's way. For the wanting of materialistic things, ones thoughts become vacant of spiritual...
He keeps sneaking up on us and trying to be an annoyance BUT we must learn that he's puny in comparison to our Lord! Also, he is the father of all lies. So, why exactly do we listen to him, let alone believe him? Why do we build altars to the fears and worries that he presents to us? We hear these thoughts in our heads (and in our hearts) and instead of clinging to the promises of the Lord, we belittle the cross and elevate these doubts and fears above the Lord. How wicked of us, to let anything be held above the Lord. The Lord is God and He is able. He is greater than all things. We must NOT let fear take the place of where the Lord should be enthroned. Our hearts were meant to enthrone the Lord. Not to contain worry, depression, or...
John G Lake "I wonder if there is anything that could not be accomplished through the love of God? Paul says there is not. "Love never faileth." Try it on your wife; try it on your children; try it on your neighbors. I sometimes say I believe I had the hardest boys to handle that were ever born. They were strictly like the old man. After a while, I saw there was only one way under God's earth to handle them. One day I went off to pray, and I said, 'Lord God, help me to love these boys regardless of what they do or say.' I had to love them in some dreadful places, some awful circumstances. They tried me to the limit on that prayer. Then the other day they all happened to drop into Spokane while we were away, and in a few days I received...
