While watching the Bible special on History channel this weekend my mind filled with questions about Jesus. We know the stories and have been taught all about Jesus, but I am left wondering about how He really was as a man. I am a teenager so I guess I just wonder how Jesus was as a teen as well. I wonder about the simple things we've never learned. Answers to my wonderings won't be answered until I am home and come face to face with my beloved Jesus, a day a long for and rejoice thinking about. But I wanted to share thoughts I've been having. I've been wondering what Jesus's embrace must have felt like. I have this feeling Jesus gave the best hugs. I bet they were warm and you can just feel how much love He had. This is the main thing...
Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress (Psalm 4:1 KJV) Just about every emotional challenge we experience today was faced by the psalmist during his lifetime. If we will observe what David did through his struggles, and receive from God the grace to respond as David responded, we can often overcome our challenges. David said he was being enlarged when he was in distress. What does that mean? It simply means David was growing in God while his faith was being stretched through his trials. Just as our bodies need exercised to be strengthened, the same is true in our spiritual life. God is committed to grow us spiritually. If we have no stress (trials) we will experience spiritual atrophy. God will not only allow trials, but direct...
Is it not a shame...the tragedy of severe conflicts of war...of loved ones putting their life on the line for others, the love of God and country. Those of us not there, cannot begin to contemplate their untold sacrifice, for only God would know of. I would like to share as a witness, to what I believe is also a tragedy...the painful scar that has been 'seen in the Eyes and Heard from the Hearts of walking and talking among the Homeless'...God puts us in many places not of our understanding...but for a purpose...believe it! For out of the mouth of seemingly lost souls, profound words were shared..."I am at peace with myself and God, I am away from the hate of the community". Those words my friends, have been echoed time after time from...
THE LOVE OF THE FATHER by ### The New Testament has much to say about chastisement [educational correction]: “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?” (Hebrews 12:5-7). Jesus Himself declared, “As many as I love, I rebuke [correct] and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent” (Revelation 3:19). Paul wrote, "We are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world” (1 Corinthians 11:32)...
SIGN POST'S ARE EVERYWHERE Aside from the big signs of the times such as, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." - Matthew 24:7 "There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." - Matthew 24:7 Daniel 12:4 ...'even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.'--- (Computers, cell phones, etc.) Luke 17:28-30 ...'Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.' Matthew 24:9-10 ...'Then shall they deliver you up to be...
THE REFINER’s FIRE by ### All the Old Testament prophets foretold God’s people going into the refiner’s fire. “I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried” (Zechariah 13:9). “For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness” (Malachi 3:2-3). God said to Jeremiah, “Is not my word like as a fire?” (Jeremiah 23:29). And Jeremiah said, “His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones” (Jeremiah 20:9). God is once again sending a fiery, refining...
O Love that wilt not let me go, I rest my weary soul in thee; I give thee back the life I owe, That in thine ocean depths its flow May richer, fuller be. O light that followest all my way, I yield my flickering torch to thee; My heart restores its borrowed ray, That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day May brighter, fairer be. O Joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, And feel the promise is not vain, That morn shall tearless be. O Cross that liftest up my head, I dare not ask to fly from thee; I lay in dust life’s glory dead, And from the ground there blossoms red Life that shall endless be.
FAITH’s FIERCE WAR by ### Beloved, we are in a fierce war that is a life-and-death struggle for our faith. Satan is determined to shipwreck and destroy the faith of God’s elect, and the stronger your faith, the greater his attack against it will be. When faith is shattered or lost, believers become weak and turn to idolatry and wickedness. Paul warned that some had cast aside their faith. He charged ### to fight the good fight by “holding faith and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck [ruined]” (1 Timothy 1:19). He also warned ###, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1...
