Philippians 3:12-14(KJV) Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The apostle Paul tells us in these scriptures that he is working toward becoming more Christ-like... but had not achieved perfection. However, he does not allow his weaknesses and mistakes along the way to distract him from the mission Christ had called him to. So often we spend so much...
Mama on Her Knees By: ### Sometimes they need to see mama on her knees. With all the love she has to give, she gives the most when she’s on her knees. Sometimes they need to see the faith behind her bended knees. Mama goes to the Lord in prayer. She loves her children so. Sometimes they need to see mama on her knees. She prays about their soul, she prays about their needs. With all the love she has to give, mama goes to the Lord in prayer. Sometimes they need to see mama on her knees. Sometimes they need to see the faith behind her bended knees. Now they’re grown with children of their own and they’re talking to the Lord on bended knees.
To provide a more detailed picture of this "Daughters of Zion" road that I'm on: Things aren't just happening to me. All of the people who are casting me off as evil are ascribing to text, precept upon precept, whether they know it or not, will admit it or not, or whether or not I'm in their midst. I could literally name Names, but that's not my purpose. 🔹Those who have been seduced by silly women given to lust = Ephraim 🔹Those women who are married and have led silly, weak men astray = Daughters of Chaldean 🔹Those who have seduced priests, in willful lust, with the support of Assyrian counsel, yet arrogantly remain seated in their high places at the exaltation of the Assyrians = Daughters of Babylon 🔹Those who have...
When I used to live in South Carolina we would go to the mountains every once in a while. The best time to go is in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors. The trees are beautiful. The Blue Ridge Parkway has walking trails along the road that you can stop and walk. It is so beautiful and you don’t want to rush through it. You want to take it step by step. As you walk the paths and look around you see the different colored leaves of yellow, red, orange, rust and even burgundy colored. It would be a shame to drive through without enjoying the wonder of it and the majesty of God that gave birth to it all. When we first receive Jesus as Lord the wonder in our hearts and the overwhelming love we start to feel is just the beginning...
"And they loved not their lives unto the death..." What is God allowing you to go through? Are you mad at God, confused, bitter? Are you worried? Do you trust Him? When Job was complaining, God asked him: "where were you when I formed the Earth?" The Lord has a plan, He can see further than we can, yet we hold Him accountable for things that go wrong instead of trusting that God is a loving Father and has everything under control. Hypothetically speaking, let's assume you knew that you were about to be put into a terrible war, possibly even sent to the front lines of battle, then would your attitude be different? Assuming you knew all this, if you were given a chance to go to pamper camp instead of boot camp, would you really prefer...
To be still in the day...take the opportunity to relax and open to God. To recall that we are in the Presence of God...being always in the Presence of God, but in prayer we place ourselves in God's Presence. To ask the Holy Spirit to help us look at our life with love this day. Let us look at our day with gratitude, as we begin to give thanks for the gifts of the day...taking special care to notice what we have received and what we gave. As we complete our review of our gifts of the day, let us pause to thank God for all our gifts. Let us to learn to seek help of the Holy Spirit and to look at the ways we have responded to God's gracious gifts and love this day...and to ask the Holy Spirit to come into our heart and help us look at our...
THE LITTLE THINGS Sometimes I feel like I will never smile again, which scares me because one of the most precious gifts that GOD gives us to share with others, is the natural beauty of a smile. In trying to cope with my current challenges, I have had to come up with ways to stay focused on the positive side of life and even bring to remembrance those little things that make me smile, like: The innocence of anticipation and excitement in a child's eyes. That knowing essence behind the smile of a gray haired old lady. The beauty of a red bird perched on a wooden fence. The burst of the sunshine ushering in a new day and the awesome colors that GOD uses to paint the heavens as the sun disappears behind the moon. The comfort of a...
```markdown Here you are again, going around the same mountain; you just can’t seem to get past yourself. You keep making the same mistake over and over again. You lose your temper, someone has hurt you deeply or one overwhelming hurdle of family or finances seem to keep swirling around you like a tornado and depression sets in and keeps you frozen and going nowhere. Or fear takes root and you get scared to tell the truth about something so, you think, one little “white lie” will not hurt and then you wonder why you seem to be stuck and not going anywhere. The same kind of trials keeps coming your way; well, fear not! God knew you before you were in your mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:1-4) “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me...
Daughter of Zion's Future Glory I'm feeling some kinda way right now. I woke up this morning to a most beautiful day, yet scripturally something does not sit well with me. It seems that more often than not it is those in the church who are beating me down and discouraging me (even praying against me) without cause. I have received more GOD-like compassion from worldly people than from church people. This is sad because as Christians, even if someone wrongs us, we are to forgive. It's disheartening to watch, as others, with whom brethren shouldn't even have a meal, not only are rewarded non-punitive acceptance, but even sit in the pulpit misguiding others. I understand that forgiveness has no limitations; shouldn't that abound toward me...
God commands us to turn away from our wickedness and death and choose godliness and life. Say to them. "As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their wicked ways and live Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel? Ezekiel 33:11. Someone may be a sinner for a long time without physically dying but two things we take for granted- peace of mind and the joy of the Lord die very quickly long before the physical death. Another thing that dies is the ability to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The first step on the road to forgiveness, healing and restoration is to stop any sinful behavior. "Turn! Turn from your evil ways!" It...
