Suffering! As believers, this can be a difficult thing to study and acknowledge in all of our lives. We need to understand that we will ALL suffer as believers at some point, or points, in our lives. And we should never blame God for it; that He is not faithful to His Word; that He doesn't hear us! "God, in all His wisdom, has a purpose for our pain, a reason for our struggles, and a gift for our steadfast faithfulness." "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6) NIV. There is a path we all must follow when we choose to give our lives to the Lord and follow Him. And this path will have many test and...
We share many traits with our families. But one thing we don't always share with them is our spiritual outlook. We can be miles apart there. In my own case, I always took an interest in Biblical things, and eventually came to the Truth and became saved. However, those around me took a completely different path.My mother was always fascinated with the occult,as far back as I can remember. So my sister followed that, after hearing it just blindly believed, and closes her mind when you try to tell her otherwise. My aunt ,who at one point I thought might be coming to the Truth, I was wrong. Sadly, she reinforced her anti-Christian rhetoric, and also believes in evolution, and aliens from ufos, which most Christians believe is a demonic...
God has a glorious purpose for your suffering So often when we face incredible difficulties we ask God, “Why?” We wonder if we have just become a pawn in his chess match against the devil. But Paul reminds us that God has a purpose for our sufferings: eternal glory. He tells us we are children of God, “provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him” (Rom. 8:17). And lest we wonder if the glory is worth it, Paul adds, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us” (Rom. 8:18). God has something in store for you that is so great and so amazing that when that day comes, you will say that the hardship was worth it. It may be...
God works all things, including your suffering, for good Not only does God have great things in store for us in the future, but he also works now through our sufferings for our good. “For we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28). We have no reason to fear that our trials will bring us to our demise, since God has a way of working such situations out for good. As Joseph said to his brothers who sold him into slavery, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Gen. 50:20). What is the good that God intends for us? Although God does not promise that our circumstances will improve, he does promise that our circumstances...
God wants to restore your soul. What does that mean? Your soul is your mind, will and emotions. You are a three-part being: you have a spirit — that’s the part of you that lives for eternity, you have a soul, and you live in a body while you’re here on earth. Your soul is where the enemy tries to attack you and hold you back. Your soul is where you may have brokenness from the past or hurts and disappointments, but when God restores your soul, He brings His healing power to those broken places. He makes you whole again. And when God restores you, He makes you better off than you were before! Notice that He leads us beside quiet waters. He makes us lie down in green pastures. This is a picture of rest. When we are resting in Him, He is...
You'd be surprised, sometimes things that happen in 2 different categories have more in common than you'd think.Take, for example, an epidemic of a physical sickness.Like, during flu season, how does it spread? One person in a family gets it, then another at close range because the germs have spread. And so on in the outside. Now take an "epidemic" of spiritual misinformation, or, if you call it, deception of the devil. How does it spread?Say, a parent is into the occult, the kids hear it, and they get this "germ" of unbelief spread to them.you could almost say they "caught it", from someone infected by those false beliefs.Like the flu starts with one or 2 people, then picks up steam and spreads,so too with the spiritual, and other sins of...
What are you expecting in life—good things? Bad things? Big things? Little things? Anything at all? God wants you to get your hopes up The Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." One definition of hope is confident expectancy. Did you know that you can't even have faith if you don't first have hope? Your expectations set the limits for your life. If you never expect anything good, you're never going to receive anything good. If you don't expect things to get better, then nothing will get better. God promises to meet you at your level of expectancy. That's why Jesus said in Matthew 9:29: "According to your faith be it done to you." One translation simply says, "Have what your faith expects." Make the decision to expect...
Thou shall not die, but live. This is such a wonderful promise to all of us who believe, trust and love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul. So, let us not ever worry about anything in this world. No matter how big our house is, or our car is the late model convertible, or how fat is our bank account, our graves will be the same size and nothing absolutely nothing we will be able to take to heaven. The only thing that Jesus will ask us when we get to heaven is this. Did you read My word? Did you obeyed what I said? How many lost souls did you bring to My feet? What our answer will be? Dear Jesus, open our hearts to love You more. Open our ears to hear Thy voice. Open our minds to understand the wonderful...
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35 ) People aren't going to know we're His disciples by how many times we come to church or how many Scriptures we can quote. People will know we're His disciples by the love we show one another. The enemy tries to bring division throughout the Body of Christ by keeping us focused on our differences. When we're critical and judgmental, we build walls that separate us. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:13, "We need to come together in the unity of faith." There's great power in unity! We can do a whole lot more together, as born-again believers, than we can do apart. Let's decide to lay down our differences and come together in the...
