Be open to advice Thursday 6th September 2018 'The wise listen to advice.' Proverbs 12:15 NIV Sometimes we think we don't need anyone else's advice. But that's not the case. The Bible says that, 'the wise listen to advice' (Proverbs 12:15 NIV) and that we should 'listen to advice and accept discipline' (Proverbs 19:20 NIV). God often uses others to guide us and encourage us to go a certain way. But, not everyone will be giving us the right advice: it may be given out of self-interest or from ignorance. We need to be discerning. 'The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps' (Proverbs 14:15 NIV). So, when we're given advice, it's a good idea to pray about whether we should take that advice on board or...
8/31/2018 03:46:42 PM Jenna Browder WASHINGTON – Scripture calls us to pray for our leaders, and with the midterm elections almost here, Christians across the country are gathering by the numbers to do just that. CBN News spoke with several groups to get a feel for what appears to be a growing prayer movement spreading in the United States. https://www.cbn.com/tv/5830678504001 Maureen Bravo, one intercessor on the frontlines, started a prayer call-line during the 2016 election. She told CBN News that believers called in from all over the country to intercede for God's will. However, she noticed that once the election was over, the line went silent. "And I thought, 'How crazy am I? I dialed this code so many times. How could I mess...
No longer slaves Wednesday 5th September 2018 'Christ has set us free! This means we are really free.' Galatians 5:1 CEV There are many things in life that can make us feel like we're stuck in chains: from the way we think about ourselves, to huge life-controlling issues such as anxiety and depression. We may know in theory that 'Christ has set us free' (Galatians 5:1 CEV), and we may desperately want to live in freedom, but the chains feel so much part of our lives that we're not sure how to live without them. We actually keep ourselves chained up. When God took the Israelites out of slavery and towards the Promised Land, it should only have taken 11 days but it ended up taking 40 years. They complained endlessly and, as a...
We are living in the last days and people are so afraid of the future that is coming to earth. The planet is warming up and up and no one is stoping it. Floods everywhere. Earthquakes coming to every nation on earth. Famine starting to rise. The love for God is fading away. Sin and evil keep rising up. Fear and trembling of heart has come. There is a time of every activity under heaven. A time to live and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to tear them apart and a time to build up. Eccl. 3.2 Nothing to fear, nothing to run away from. Come closer and closer to heart of the Lord. He will save you. He will protect you. He will be with you even to the end of the earth So.... Seek what God want us...
Second Timothy tells us of some obnoxious last day traits. Also, the Bible speaks about the meek, and not the arrogant, will inherit the Earth. But I don't see arrogance mentioned by name in 2Timothy,as a specific last day trait. The closest I see is "lovers of self". Talking about people I've come into contact with,{have you?}that, maybe they do something selfish like cut you off, or jump the line,if you don't just take it like a masochist, they give you an arrogant reaction or reply, like, they're the one that counts, and you're nothing to them, so the H__ll with you.Examples are ,someone might get in MY way, then give me a dirty look that it's the other way around,or even grumble under their breath. In other words, I have more reason to...
Pursue your dream Tuesday 4th September 2018 'Here comes that dreamer.' Genesis 37:19 NCV When Joseph shared his big dreams, he had very strong opposition. His dreams are found in Genesis 37:7-9. In the first dream, he saw himself and his brothers binding bundles of wheat, and his brothers' bundles bowed down to his. When he told his brothers, 'they hated him all the more' (Genesis 37:8 NIV). They said to each other, 'Here comes that dreamer. Let's kill him...then we will see what will become of his dreams' (Genesis 37:19-20 NCV). Then he dreamed of his father, mother and brothers (represented as the sun, moon and stars) bowing down to him. Joseph told his father about it, and 'his father scolded him' (Genesis 37:10), because it...
Day and night we must worship the majesty and the honor and the glory of God the Father. Why should all Christians do this? Why glorify the Lord wherever we are? 1. He has taken away all sin and evil from our heart. 2. He has healed us from all wounds the devil brought to us. 3. He has taken all guilt and all fear that we had in our heart. 4, He has given us a new hope in life. To see Him face to face when we get to heaven. 5. He has shown us the way in which we should walk. For He alone is worthy of all praise, honor and glory. Unto Him we shall sing songs that glorifies His name. Join the angels in heaven along with all the saints, all the prophets, all the disciples who love Him with all their heart, mind and soul. The...
