Today's Bible Verse "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3 King James Version (KJV) Today's Bible Study God loves you. He loves you so much that he came to rescue you. It was His loving kindness that has drawn you to Him. It was His grace and His mercy that called your name and now you are free! God is so good and so loving that even when you were far off and dead in your sin, Jesus came with everlasting love and grace...
Understanding Satan's role (4) Monday 24th September 2018 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' James 4:7 NIV Sometimes we can feel like things in our lives have been stolen and destroyed - a dream we've had, a relationship that went wrong, hope for the future that vanished. But the truth is, with God on our side, Satan's work can be undone. God can restore the things that have been taken away. And we can strengthen ourselves in him to avoid anything more being taken. In James 4, it says: 'Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you' (James 4:7 NIV). The most effective way to resist the enemy is to be prepared. This is done through regular connection with God, through prayer, reading his...
We know the definition of idolatry as something we put before God, usually as an object of worship.BUT, I was thinking, can it also apply to something we chose to help us INSTEAD OF God?Like, rely on that INSTEAD OF God to aid us?The latest thing I see being hyped up to the Heavens is pot.Not even just medicinal, but more and more states are legalizing it,or considering doing that. And they're hyping it like it helps you with everything but the kitchen sink. Now, my question would be by depending on the pot to help them instead of going directly to God,would that be,like putting the the pot ahead of God,as a source of help} and hence, a form of idolatry?.And all the people getting into yoga and Buddism. They say these pagan concepts make...
Believe or not.... I have asked God for strenght in my faith. He gave me difficulties to make me strong, to open my eyes to see the glorious promises He has for us. I have remembered that this world is not my home. I am just passing through. One hundred years from now I will not be here to share Jesus with others. I will be with my heavenly Father in heaven, worshiping Him and adoring Him forever. I have asked God for wisdom from heaven and He gave me more problems in my life to solve. Problems with my children misbehaving in school, depression set in, worry about not being able to pay the rent. Taking the dog to the vet and he gets worse. My boss picks on me all the time. I asked God for courage to continue the road to...
Understanding Satan's role (2) Saturday 22nd September 2018 'A messenger of Satan, to torment me.' 2 Corinthians 12:7 NIV When we're facing adversity on our Christian walk, we'd be wise to allow it to drive us closer to God. That was true in Paul's life: he had been a Christian persecutor who became an apostle chosen by God. He healed the sick, travelled the world, and wrote some of history's greatest documents. But as he grew in godly fame, he came up against massive trials and challenges, one of which was to ward off pride. 'To keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me' (2 Corinthians 12:7 ESV). We aren't told the...
