Be content Wednesday 26th September 2018 'I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.' Philippians 4:11 NIV Discontentment. It stops us from feeling joy and living life to the full. The Bible says we must learn to be content 'whatever the circumstances' (Philippians 4:11 NIV). This can be hard. We see what other people have or have achieved and want the same. When we start comparing our lives to others' lives, discontentment finds its way in and causes us to forget all the blessings and gifts God has given us. Discontentment clouds all the good and makes us think our lives are not good enough. Contentment, on the other hand, recognises all the good, despite the negatives or lack of. There'll always be people who have...
When you are so hungry, you worked so hard all day long and want a delicious food to be in front of you, then you think of these things.... Roast beef with all the trimmings. Fish a la carte. Chicken on a pot. Something to remember before you eat anything. Thank God for all the blessings you have been given. It is Him who gives you strength to work and wisdom to get wonderful food. Eat grains, vegetables, and fruits. It is good for you.
Jesus alone is the joy of our hearts. He brings happiness and peace down deep in our soul. Surround yourself with someone who makes you happy and joyful. They are full of the Holy Spirit and live in the holy presence of Jesus. People who make you laugh are the ones who enjoy God's presence through prayer and fasting for lost souls' salvation. Happy people love to help others in need. Opening a feeding center for the homeless and for those who lost their job. They genuinely care for others just as Jesus did. They are worth keeping in your life because of their love to Jesus; they serve in the church as ushers and song leaders. Happy people forgive others even those who are sorry for their actions. Holding on to anger hurts...
Understanding Satan's role (5) Tuesday 25th September 2018 'Satan has demanded the right to test each one of you.' Luke 22:31 CEV Luke writes: 'Jesus said, "Simon, listen to me! Satan has demanded the right to test each one of you, as a farmer does when he separates wheat from the husks. But Simon, I have prayed that your faith will be strong. And when you have come back to me, help the others"' (Luke 22:31-32 CEV). When we're determined to make a difference for God in the world, and to advance his Kingdom, we'll most likely face more intense attack from Satan as he doesn't want us to be doing God's work. But, Jesus said, 'All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me' (Matthew 28:18 NIV). So, when we come under...
```html Today's Bible Verse "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3 King James Version (KJV) Today's Bible Study God loves you. He loves you so much that he came to rescue you. It was His loving kindness that has drawn you to Him. It was His grace and His mercy that called your name and now you are free! God is so good and so loving that even when you were far off and dead in your sin, Jesus came with everlasting love and grace and rescued you. Today you live in this truth...
Understanding Satan's role (4) Monday 24th September 2018 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' James 4:7 NIV Sometimes we can feel like things in our lives have been stolen and destroyed - a dream we've had, a relationship that went wrong, hope for the future that vanished. But the truth is, with God on our side, Satan's work can be undone. God can restore the things that have been taken away. And we can strengthen ourselves in him to avoid anything more being taken. In James 4, it says: 'Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you' (James 4:7 NIV). The most effective way to resist the enemy is to be prepared. This is done through regular connection with God, through prayer, reading his...
We know the definition of idolatry as something we put before God, usually as an object of worship. BUT, I was thinking, can it also apply to something we chose to help us INSTEAD OF God? Like, rely on that INSTEAD OF God to aid us? The latest thing I see being hyped up to the Heavens is pot. Not even just medicinal, but more and more states are legalizing it, or considering doing that. And they're hyping it like it helps you with everything but the kitchen sink. Now, my question would be by depending on the pot to help them instead of going directly to God, would that be, like putting the pot ahead of God, as a source of help, and hence, a form of idolatry? And all the people getting into yoga and Buddhism. They say these pagan...
