Having problems at home? Children misbehaving in school? The boss is not happy with your work? Your ### picks on you all the time? If life gives you lemons, then make a lemonade. Sometimes we need to weep over what it is coming to us. Jesus will wipe away all tears that come out of a broken heart. Grieve the losses you had in life. Jesus will give it back to you and bless your life. Feeling the pain of not being able to help others? Jesus will fill your heart with joy. Trusting in the Lord and waiting for Him is a very important ingredient for our existence. All Christians should embrace the life He has given us. Happiness is a choice, not a result. The center of all joy is to be in close contact with the Lord.
I found this writing years ago. It is part of a prayer written by ### entitled Lord Bless My Enemies. This is the part of His writing that spoke to my heart… –A slave curses enemies, for he does not understand. But a son blesses them, for he understands. For a son knows that his enemies cannot touch his life. Therefore he freely steps among them and prays to God for them. Enemies have driven me into God’s embrace more than friends have. Friends have bound me to earth, enemies have loosed me from earth and have demolished all my aspirations in the world. Just as a hunted animal finds safer shelter than an un-hunted animal does, so have I, persecuted by enemies, found the safest sanctuary, having ensconced myself beneath God’s...
Keep growing Tuesday 16th October 2018 'Let the wise listen and add to their learning.' Proverbs 1:5 NIV The Bible says that we need to 'grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ' (2 Peter 3:18 NIV) and that 'the wise listen and add to their learning' (Proverbs 1:5 NIV). But how do we grow? We grow through changing our attitudes and responses to things. We need to determine what stops us from moving forward in our faith: is it not spending time with God, a bad habit, repeatedly giving in to temptation, fear of being uncomfortable? Many things can be barriers to us advancing in spiritual maturity. Babies have milk before they're ready to move on to solid foods. And it's the same for us spiritually. First we...
On September 6, 2018, I started my very first job at ### as a teacher's aide, and have been really enjoying it. I get to work with teachers, a group of nineteen children in the second grade all ###-### years old, and am loved by them. I gave my thanks before, but it occurred to me that I never wrote about it here online, so I just wanted to report on the lord's blessing and his provision as I truly love my job. Thank-you Jesus.
I sometimes have an unusual experience. I looked at posts on other Christian sites, and see some other people have had this, too. Like, I'll hit something with prayer, and even from a few angles. {call in prayer lines, prayer boxes in churches, etc.} But soon after the prayers go up, I get a "reminder" that the problem is still there!! {And it's not lack of faith, because when I first started doing it, after hanging up from the prayer line, I felt good, believing that the problem was over}. But for example, if the prayer was to get a troublesome person out of my life, soon after I hung up from the prayer line, and happy believing that the problem was over, my cellphone rings, and when I look at the screen, whose number? The troublesome...
. . . is what I said yesterday after Pastor ### prayed for the President. You can best believe I had my hands on the television, touching and agreeing. You cannot manipulate God. Yet, we are graced with free will. It’s never about the man, it’s about the plan wherein he operates. It’s A Choice. So that even if the one being prayed for, receiveth not, prayer and prophecy is for those, in the midst, who choose to believe. While God cannot honor a wicked plan, He can replace the plan and even the planner with someone who operates according to His statutes, and nothing in GOD’S REPLACEMENT gives place to sin. I like the way ### said it: “You have to be SELFLESS enough to know when you step aside and allow someone else to do the job.”...
We notice differences between the saved persons way of looking at things and the unsaved. {Also, how we may have acted when unsaved.} {"For such were some of you"} We, when wronged, may not like what the person has done, but after that "calm down," and don't stay in a state of hostility against them. They, on the other hand, want to get "one up" on the person, and even hold grudges. There's one lady in my development who actually brags about the fact that she holds grudges. She's like, "Well! So and So tried to say hello to me after that, but I showed I was holding a grudge" {Proud of herself}. In the meantime, the list of people she's holding a grudges against has grown and grown. {usually over minor things.} Then, we have discernment...
It comes a time when we have to go through the valley of the shadow of death... we shall fear no evil.... because Jesus is with us. Is your smile for real or it is just a fake smile? Sometimes we have to hide our pain and our sorrow. But Jesus gives us strength to continue the road to heaven. I am trying to forget the pain, I am trying not to remember anymore. I have taken your sorrow away from you... says the Lord. Look at my eyes and you will see the truth. Our eyes are the windows of our soul. If Jesus lives inside of us.... there will be hope for better days coming. Then, I begin to run away from anything that hurts me till I come to the feet of Jesus. I give it all to You, o Lord. Take and let me sleep in peace. Behind...
