I hear these pastors who claim to have figured out, through piecing together numbers in the Bible, that they have "figured out" the day, and sometimes even the time of the Rapture, etc. Like, from time to time one of them would proclaim, "on this date, Jesus will come for us, and then the Tribulation will occur." But, a few reasons I don't go along with this--for one, they never say God revealed it to them, they say they figured it out on their own, by crunching some numbers. So it's in THEIR reasoning that they came to this conclusion. Second, in the Bible, all the prophecies of those who prophesied came true. These people, every date they set has passed and it didn't happen. And thirdly, didn't Jesus say, "Concerning the time and the...
At that time Jesus declared, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." Matthew 11:25 I would be lying if I said that I've never said an unkind word. There, this admission doesn't feel so good. It even makes me a little ashamed. The good news is that I don't make it a habit, and am better about recognizing the error of my words. Even more, correcting the matter by apologizing is important to me. About 17 years ago my now 21-year-old granddaughter became God's messenger in the backseat of my car. I was fussing at her about asking so many questions and being antsy. She was a daycare age. In the midst of my rant, she blurted out...
What it means to have the Breath of God coming to us. To fill us with His holy presence, to see and feel His mercy, compassion, care and love that will not fade away with time but will remain for eternity. Sometimes it is best not to think about our end on earth but to live with Him for eternity. Do not wonder where you will end up when your time on this planet is over. Do not imagine living in hell for time inmemorial but to live happily and joyfully with Jesus in heaven. Do not obsess to get there yet, but to be busy working hard for your reward awaits for you and for me in heaven. A Crown of Life shall be given to those who were faithful to the end. So, let us all ask the Lord. Breath on me breath of God, until my heart is pure...
I keep hearing people say that when someone dies, even if they legitimately mistreated others their whole life, we are, by no means, supposed to admit their wrongdoing. I've heard it before, but what reminded me of it is this self-righteous outrage over Pres. ### admitting he wasn't a fan of ###. But what is left out here is ### was just as much actively knocking and working against him as vice versa. PLUS, something else came out on ###'s vendetta against ###, recently. And all he said was he wasn't a fan of his, a factual statement. But I've been hearing this stuff about the dead for "ages." That if you admit someone who died was not the saintly person everyone is making them out to be, you're automatically wrong. But let me ask you...
The courtroom was crowded as the judge took his seat. A deathly silence came over the crowd as the prosecuting attorney, ###, stood preparing to read the charges against the accused. "Your honor," he said, "This list is quite extensive, and it could last for days. Anyone one of these charges could send the accused man to death." He unfolded a long list, which seemed it could have lasted a lifetime and began to read. After several hours he asked the judge, "Do you wish that I continue? I mean, you must understand he has pleaded guilty." The judge looked towards the accused man and said he would return with a verdict shortly. After a few minutes of anticipation, one in which the courtroom was guessing and playing "arm chair" judge, the...
Those who do evil against the Lord and those who knowingly sin before God shall not enter heaven. If you have promised your spouse to be faithful till death do us part, then you should follow complete that promise. People cheat because they do not love the Lord. They cheat because satan has gotten them and would not let them go. Fast and pray for those cheaters who love to leave their wives alone in this world.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-27 is one of my favorite Bible passages, but here we'll only highlight verses 1-8. The passage is prolifically designed to provoke readers to examine time as it relates to lifestyles, decisions, actions, behavior, and spiritual growth. Essentially, Ecclesiastes places a period where humans would rather leave question marks. The Book encapsulates "the true meaning of life" by illuminating what it is not. What it is not is articulated by describing end-games, consequences, and or summations. Yes, Ecclesiastes sums up life through the eyes of Jesus, by showing us ahead of time what to expect when the time comes to look back over our lives. Consequently, men and women live as though they have forever to do whatever it is...
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." John 10: 10 ESV A man named ### believes that having an overabundance of material things doesn't necessarily enrich one’s life, and I agree. Essentially ### believes that less is more? Surprisingly, John backs up his position bigtime by opting out of living within an overabundance of space, things, and financial responsibilities. He traded in all of that for a simple uncluttered life, one he once dreamed about. Over the years I've entertained similar revelations, and the older I get the more passionate I'm becoming about riding myself of more things that I possess but don't need. In fact, my plan is to start giving away more...
When you and I are working for an eternal purpose of God, then the richness of His holy presence shall fill your heart with love, mercy, compassion and peace down deep in your soul. God will bless you with the riches of His grace and mercy. When you are going through trials and tribulations, Jesus is going to be with you all the way. He will watch over you with compassion and care. God will bless you with the treasures of His love. He really cares for you and loves you today and forever. God will bless you with the comfort of His mercy. When we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, fear no evil. For Jesus is with us all the way to heaven. God will give you strength from His holy presence. When tempted to throw the towel...
