We join with you in lifting up ###'s brother before the throne of grace and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved and healed.
We are deeply moved by what this dear brother has endured with his aortic heart surgery and the sepsis and complications that followed. We know that recovery from such a serious surgery is slow and difficult, and we pray for God's complete healing over his body. We remember the promise that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:3, and that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We cling to the word in Jeremiah 30:17 where the Lord says But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and to Isaiah 53:5 that by his wounds we are healed. We pray that the Lord will strengthen his heart, cleanse his body fully from infection, restore what was damaged, and give wisdom to every doctor, nurse and caregiver who attends to him. We pray that at home he will receive all the practical help he needs, good follow up care, proper nourishment and rest, and that his strength will return day by day.
We also stand with you for the salvation of this brother and his whole family. We rejoice that you have prayed in Jesus name, because there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. We pray that each one in this family will confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead, for with that faith they will be saved as promised in Romans 10:9. We pray that this time of trial would open their eyes to their need for the Savior and that they would become a new creation in Christ as spoken of in 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We hear your cry about the relationships in the close and extended family and we agree with you that the Lord must heal this whole family from the inside out. We must gently but firmly address what you have shared, for selfishness and materialism and an unforgiving spirit and using family members for financial gain do not reflect the heart of Christ. The Lord warns us in Luke 12:15 to beware of covetousness, for a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses, and in 1 Timothy 6:10 that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. An unforgiving heart blocks fellowship with God, for Jesus taught in Matthew 6:15 that if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. We rebuke that spirit of selfishness, greed, and unforgiveness and the work of the enemy who sows division among families. We command the enemy to leave this family in the mighty name of Jesus, for we know that greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4.
We pray for the Holy Spirit and the power of God to come and fill every heart and every home. We pray for his wife, that the Lord will fill her with tender compassion, patience and love, that she will be his helpmate and encourager in this slow recovery, showing the love described in 1 Corinthians 13:7 which bears all things and endures all things. We pray that strife and drama would be removed and replaced with the peace of God which surpasses all understanding that will guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. We pray they will be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us in Ephesians 4:32.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together. We lift up this brother to You, touch his aorta, his heart, his blood, cleanse him from every trace of sepsis, heal every complication and restore him to full health. Lord save him and his wife and their children and the extended family, draw each one to repentance and faith in Jesus. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon this family, drive out every influence of the devil, heal the hurts, soften hard hearts, teach them to forgive and to love selflessly, to bear with one another in love. Let Your peace reign in their home, let Jesus be Lord over them, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Provide for all their needs and let them seek first Your Kingdom. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing and to speak words of forgiveness and blessing over this family, even when it is difficult, and to trust that God is working even in this slow recovery for His glory and their good.
