Youth group today

Today is youth group, it's in like an hour and a half. Today we're having a bbq & a water fight. I pray that all goes well, that we are able to have fun, that there's no conflict or gossiping. I pray that the Holy Spirit speaks through me & works through me & the other volunteers. I pray that the presence of God (we're probably outside) is felt by us all. I pray for the kids especially that whatever they're going through, they don't deflect it on others, in & outside the youth group. I pray for the Lord to help me to be obedient in His leading & not let the fear of man be a barrier, but a stepping stone. Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for me, God bless you

We lift up this time of fellowship and fun for the youth group, asking the Lord to move mightily among the young hearts gathered today. Your heart for these children is evident, and we join you in praying that the Holy Spirit would indeed speak through you and the other volunteers. May every word, action, and moment of laughter be guided by His wisdom and love.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, asking that You would fill this gathering with Your presence. Though they are outside, let them feel the weight of Your glory and the warmth of Your love. We pray that the BBQ and water fight would be filled with joy, free from conflict or gossip, and that every young person would leave with a sense of belonging and peace. For those carrying burdens, whether at home, school, or in their hearts, we ask that You would comfort them and help them to respond with grace, both today and in the days ahead.

Lord, we also lift up the volunteers, especially this dear servant leading the prayer. Give them courage to step out in faith, to speak truth in love, and to resist the fear of man. Let their obedience to Your leading be a light to these young souls, drawing them closer to You. May this time be more than just fun; may it be a moment where lives are touched, hearts are softened, and Your name is glorified.

We pray that the seeds planted today would take root and grow, that these children would come to know You more deeply, and that they would walk in the purpose You have for them. Protect them from the enemy’s schemes, and surround them with godly influences who will point them to Christ.

Father, we thank You for the opportunity to serve these young ones, and we ask that You would bless this time abundantly. May Your will be done, and may Your Spirit move in ways we cannot even imagine. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to trust in Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." The Lord is faithful, and He will guide you as you seek to minister to these children. May you walk in confidence, knowing that He is with you every step of the way.

We're so glad you reached out before heading in. There's something about an outdoor BBQ and a water fight that lowers defenses and opens hearts; your prayers for the kids, especially those who might be carrying unseen hurts, are exactly what the afternoon needs. When you notice a young person who seems withdrawn or prickly, a simple "I'm really glad you're here" can be a quiet anchor, even if they can't say so yet.

We're also thinking about your honesty around the fear of man. That hesitation before speaking up or following a nudge can feel heavy, but it doesn't mean you're failing. It can actually become a signal to lean harder into the Spirit, who never pressures us into performance but gently leads. Before things get wild, maybe pull aside one other volunteer for a thirty-second prayer, nothing polished, just "Give us Your eyes and Your courage." And if gossip starts to surface, you don't have to deliver a lecture; often a simple, warm redirection ("Hey, I heard something pretty great about him earlier…") protects the fellowship without a fight.

We're grateful you're there, showing up with both a water gun and a listening heart. May the fun be refreshing and the quiet moments weighty with Christ's presence.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this gathering. Fill it with joy that draws isolated kids in, with kindness that stops gossip before it starts, and with the steady courage Your Spirit gives. Quiet every volunteer's fear of man, and let them hear Your lead clearly, whether it's a word for a struggling teen or the patience to just be present. In Your name, amen.

Seek not to entertain merely, but to see the Spirit of Truth descend upon your gathering. The water and the fire are but outward things; the inner flame of the Holy Ghost alone can warm a dead heart, and the living water He gives alone can cleanse. Grieve not the blessed Spirit by leaning on the arm of flesh, on your ready words or jolly games, for without Him your labors are as chaff before the wind. The fear of man is a snare that shackles many a well-meaning worker, yet where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Pray, then, not only with your lips, but in the Holy Spirit, with groanings that cannot be uttered, that He would take the keys and open the hearts of the young people before you. Noah’s holy fear made him bold against the whole world; so let a trembling awe of God cast out the meaner fear of a boy’s smirk or a girl’s whisper. Be obedient to the heavenly vision, and though you feel as a withered branch, the Spirit’s power is made perfect in weakness. Your desire that no gossip or conflict break out is a holy wish, but only the Spirit of Holiness can tame the unruly tongue and make a water-fight a scene of refreshing rather than rebellion.

Look to Him who is the Spirit of supplications; let your reliance be wholly upon His divine influence. Then, though the assembly be small and the means simple, you shall see that it is not by might nor by power, but by God’s Spirit, that mountains of youthful sin are laid low and plain.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for the Holy Spirit to speak through you and for no conflict or gossiping. Remember, the Spirit does not dwell where wrath is. Boldness and anger cannot exist together; the one is a success, the other a defeat. If you would speak with power, let your mouth be the mouth of Christ, a temple of the Holy Ghost, beautiful not with gold but with meekness. Bless, do not revile; and if you cannot yet bless those who provoke, hold your peace. For the Spirit given to us is not a spirit of fear, but of power and love. Fear of man melts away when you cling to nothing you can lose. Look at the widow who gave all, at Elijah confronting Ahab, at Philip running to the desert road without asking why. True boldness springs from poverty of spirit.

As for the children, what they bring with them they will be tempted to cast on others. Meet them as Philip met the eunuch: not with harshness, but with a gentle question, “Do you understand what you are reading?” That man, full of business yet thirsting for God, sat in his chariot reading the prophet. He did not grasp it, but he read. Then the Spirit sent Philip to guide him into joy. So let your own tongue be guided by the Spirit, not by irritation. God’s presence is most deeply felt not in noise but in a soul that is calm, even amid the splash of water and the laughter of a barbecue.

Pray that the water fight remind you of that other water where Philip and the eunuch went down, and the eunuch rose up rejoicing. The Spirit caught Philip away, yet left joy behind. That joy is what you labor for. May the Lord who pricketh the heart pour out compunction and gladness on you and those young ones, that you may all be like olive plants round about His table, nothing harsh, nothing wild, bearing fruit for the kingdom without end. Let your obedience be instant, your fear swallowed up in love, and your gathering a taste of the eternal feast.

Your prayer for the youth group gathering is heard, and it is already a testimony that the Spirit of God is at work in you. The deep desire to be led, to speak under his direction, and to see the kids encounter the presence of God does not rise from our own fragile will. No one sincerely calls Jesus Lord and truly longs for his honor except by the Holy Spirit. So take courage: the very breath behind your prayer is proof that he is with you and is stirring you for this moment.

The fear of man is a heavy weight, but the Spirit who seals you as God's own possession is the one who transforms that fear into a stepping stone. Your body is a temple where he dwells, and he does not share his home with rival masters. When you feel that pull to shrink back, remember that the same Spirit who empowered Jesus to begin his public ministry, who anointed him to do good and heal the oppressed, lives in you. He is not given as a toy for private enjoyment; whatever gift or empowerment he grants is meant to profit every child and volunteer in that backyard today. Yield to that truth. The love he is producing in you, the kind of love that is patient and kind and refuses to collect a record of wrongs, is the evidence that he is genuinely in control.

That love is the real counter to conflict and gossip. A water fight and a barbecue might seem like simple fun, but in the kingdom they become a proving ground. The natural mind cannot grasp spiritual realities, but when the Spirit leads, he teaches you to see the hidden burdens those kids carry. He will not testify about himself loudly and strangely; he will quietly shine the light on Jesus and what Jesus is like. So as you serve, do not strain for a feeling or wait for a distant second blessing. The Spirit already indwells you. His presence needs only to be acknowledged and obeyed. He is the down payment of your full redemption, God’s guarantee that he intends to complete what he started in you and through you.

The outward sign of his work today will not be a sensation but the steady flow of genuine love in practical form: a listening ear, a refusal to take offense, a gentle word that cuts through a kid’s deflecting sarcasm. Let the ministry be proven by pureness, by patience, by unhypocritical love. Your role as a worker together with Jesus does not depend on your grit but on the Spirit’s overflowing life through you. The Acts of the apostles were simply the ongoing work of Jesus by the same Spirit who now prompts you to pray before the burgers hit the grill.

Go into that gathering filled with the Spirit because you are already in Christ. Ask him for a fresh overflow for the sake of those present. The Holy Spirit sovereignly gives gifts to make our witness for a risen Jesus strong and tangible to a skeptical world. Today, your life and calm joy might be the only sermon some of these kids ever see. Trust that the Father is no respecter of persons; the same gift poured out at Pentecost is available for you as you serve hot dogs and supervise water balloons. Let the Spirit take what seems ordinary and make it a place where people sense God is truly with you.

We are so thankful that you shared your heart with us about your youth group gathering. It was a joy to lift up your request before the Lord, praying for unity, joy, and the powerful movement of the Holy Spirit among you, the volunteers, and the young people. We asked God to fill the atmosphere with His presence, even outdoors, and to guard every heart from conflict or hurtful words. Most of all, we prayed that He would give you courage to walk in obedience, trusting Him to lead rather than fearing what others might think.

Now that some time has passed, we’d love to hear how the Lord moved. If He answered your prayers in ways big or small—whether through laughter, meaningful conversations, or moments where you felt His peace guiding you—please share a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If things didn’t go as hoped or you’re still waiting to see God’s hand at work, we’d be honored to keep standing with you in prayer. You’re always welcome to post this request again so we can continue lifting it up together.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you serve Him and those young hearts, and may you always sense His nearness as you step out in faith. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name.
