We hear the exhaustion in your cry and we stand with you in this battle, for we know how wearying it is to feel you have been fighting so long without rest. We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true rest and victory.

The Word reminds us that these battles are not yours to carry alone. We are told in 2 Chronicles 20:15, Don't be afraid, nor be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. And again in Exodus 14:14, Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. Jesus Himself invites you in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He also promises in Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. When we are exhausted, He does not ask us to fight harder in our own strength, but to surrender the fight to Him and rest in His shadow, as Psalm 91:1 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

We understand your heart crying out for restoration, compensation and restitution, and for vengeance upon adversaries. We gently remind ourselves that while God is just and will repay, vengeance is not ours to take or to direct. Scripture is clear in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Our part is to trust His perfect justice and timing, to release bitterness and to pray even for those who oppose us, knowing He will act righteously. We do not need to strive for vengeance, we need to trust the Judge of all the earth to do right.

We also cling with you to the promise of restoration, for God is a God who restores what has been lost or stolen. Joel 2:25 declares, I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. We pray for His mighty miracles of provision and for the recovery of every document and every lost item, for nothing is hidden from His sight. What is lost to us is known to Him, and He cares about even these small details.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace together. We lift up this weary one to You and ask that You would give rest to the exhausted soul. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus according to Philippians 4:7. We ask that You take this battle fully into Your hands, for it is Yours and not ours to fight. Forgive us where we have tried to carry vengeance ourselves, and help us to fully trust that vengeance belongs to You and You will repay in Your perfect wisdom and time.

Lord, we ask for Your mighty restoration, compensation and restitution according to Your will. Bring swift miracles where only You can make a way. We ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would lead to every lost document and every lost item, that what has been misplaced would be found quickly. We plead the protecting covering of the blood of Jesus over this life, over the household and over all that concerns us, for we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. Cover and keep safe from every scheme of the adversary.

We thank You that You see, You know, and You will not forsake those who trust in You. Strengthen faith to wait on Your timing and to rest in Your unfailing love. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We hear how weary you are carrying these battles, and how much you are longing for things to be made right and for what has been lost to be found. It makes sense to feel exhausted when you have been fighting for a long time and are waiting for answers.

We are standing with you in prayer for restoration and for God's covering over you. We know you want to see justice done quickly, and we join you in placing that completely in the Lord's hands, trusting Him to act in His perfect way and timing while He guards your heart with peace in the meantime.

When documents and important items feel scattered and urgent to find, it can help to pause for a short rest and then take one small step at a time. If you are able, try making a simple list of what is missing and check one place thoroughly before moving to the next, and if possible ask a trusted friend or family member to help you look so you are not carrying it alone. Getting some rest and staying hydrated can also make the search clearer.

Father, we bring our friend to You today, so tired from the fight. Please give rest to their mind and body, cover them with Your protection, and guide them as they look for what is lost. Show them where to search and bring what is needed to light. We ask for Your peace to settle over them and for Your wise and loving restoration in their life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

[Spurgeon]

There is a weariness that comes from long fighting which the Lord Himself knows well, and your cry of exhaustion has been heard before the throne of grace. You speak of battles that are not your own, and truly they are the Lord's battles, yet He does not leave His soldiers to fight in their own strength. As it is written, But by the Grace of God I am what I am, and the power of the living child of God is not in himself, but in his Heavenly Father. When you are guilty, weak, and helpless, you may fall upon Christ's kind arms, for He is your strength and righteousness, your Jesus and your all.

You ask for restoration, compensation and mighty restitution, and for vengeance upon adversaries. Hear what the prophet declares, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all that mourn. Vengeance indeed belongs unto the Lord. When our Lord puts on the helmet of salvation, He also girds about Him the garments of vengeance, and that day of vengeance is a necessary companion to the year of acceptance. There was a day of vengeance when all the waves and billows of Divine wrath went over His innocent head, when with collected might it bruised the harmless Lamb of God in Gethsemane, that you might know liberty from bondage and from the rage of Satan. Leave vengeance therefore in His hands, for He will take vengeance on the evil one and will comfort those that mourn, and rejoice that the day of vengeance is His and the year of acceptance is yours in Christ.

And concerning restoration, the Lord gives a word most sweet to weary souls, They shall be as though I had not cast them aside. When Adam sinned he lost Paradise, but God will give a better Paradise to sinners who repent. This is perfect restoration, not merely to regain what was lost, but to be dealt with as though you had never been cast aside at all. If you have lost joy or peace or strength through long conflict, may the Lord restore you in answer to the prayer of Him that redeemed you. Wait upon His time, for His restitution is both sure and abundant, though it unfold itself in His wisdom and not always in our haste.

You ask also that every document and every lost item may be found speedily. Our God is a God who seeks and finds. The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost, and He bears on His shoulders the lost sheep whom He has recovered. We heard of it at Ephratah, we found it in the fields of the woods, and often we find Christ very near to us even when we feel quite lost and cannot tell which way to go. The nearest thing to being saved is knowing that one is lost, and He who knows how to find a wandering sheep knows how to guide your hand to that which is hidden. We will pray that He who sees what is lost will in His providence direct you to it.

You plead the mighty protecting blood covering, and there is no other covering that holds. Can you view the flowing of Christ's soul redeeming blood, with divine assurance knowing, that He hath made your peace with God. That blood is your shelter and your plea, for whosoever believeth on the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved, and the wrath of God abideth not on him who is found in Christ.

Let us pray with you. O Lord our God, look upon this weary one who is exhausted with fighting. By Thy grace sustain where strength fails, and let Thy power be made perfect in weakness. Grant restoration according to Thy promise, that Thy child may be as though not cast aside. Take Thy rightful vengeance upon the adversary, and deliver from every bondage of fear and oppression. In Thy mercy cause to be found what is lost, as a shepherd finds his sheep. Cover with the precious blood of Christ, keep from all evil, and give rest in the acceptable year of the Lord. We fall flat upon Thy promise, believing that Thou hearest and wilt answer for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
