Young mother with cancer

We have received your request and we join you in bringing your ### and her family before the Lord with urgency and compassion.
We pray for your ### in her battle with metastatic breast cancer, that the Lord who has power both to heal and to sustain would lay his healing hand upon her. We ask God for mercy, for wisdom for her doctors, for strength for her body, and for a miracle of healing according to his perfect will and compassion. We pray also for her husband, that God would strengthen him day by day to love and support his wife and children with steady courage, and for her young children, that they would be held in peace and comforted by the presence of Christ even as they walk through this difficult time.
We know that God is able to heal, and we ask him boldly for that healing because he is benevolent and full of compassion and does not turn away those who come to him in need. At the same time Scripture teaches us that his power is shown not only in miracles but even more in sustaining love and faithful endurance. The endurance that shone in Job was firmer than adamant, and love itself is described as the mother of all good things, greater even than gifts of healing. This reminds us that whether God brings healing in this life or sustains through suffering, his love remains the sure foundation, and nothing can separate his children from that love in Jesus Christ.
So we pray with both hope and trust:
Father in heaven, we lift up this young mother to you. You know her name, you know her children, you know every fear and every pain. In the name of Jesus Christ your Son, who alone is our salvation and hope, we ask for your healing mercy upon her body. Touch what is sick and restore what is broken, if it be your will. Give her peace that passes understanding, and let her feel your nearness. Strengthen her husband with endurance and hope, and guard her children with your gentle care. Sustain this whole family by your grace, and let them know more deeply the power of your love, whatever the days ahead may hold. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord and healer. Amen.
