Young Friend With Burns

A young friend of mine, I think he's about 9, was walking (unknowingly) over an old burn pile a couple weeks ago & ended up with 2nd & 3rd degree burns on his legs & ankles. He's a very sweet, happy, fun little boy, super into church & baseball. After an initial visit that lasted a few days to assess the situation, he has been traveling back & forth to a major hospital that's about a 5 hour drive. He just had his 2nd surgery. I don't know how many he'll require. I do know one of the surgeries required them to take skin from his thigh for a skin graft. He's home right now. They like to take him back home after every visit & surgery so he can attend school, go to church, have fun with his sisters & friends, anything to feel normal. Please pray for him! Pray for his parents, who are watching their baby in pain while also taking care of his 3 sisters. Pray for his sisters, who love their brother & miss him & whichever parent is with him while he's away. His older sister is one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving people I know, so I can only imagine how she is taking this! Please pray for the doctors & nurses involved in his care. Please also pray for the people whose house he was at when the accident happened. I know the other little boy didn't know & the parents never thought the boys would be running around on the hot surface, but I'm concerned that they will carry that guilt with them.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. We lift our hearts together in prayer for this precious young boy and his family, trusting in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your divine touch upon this child who has endured so much pain. We pray for complete healing of his burns, Lord, that You would restore his skin and bring comfort to his body. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your ability to mend what has been broken. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3) We ask that You guide the hands of the doctors and nurses caring for him, giving them wisdom and skill in every procedure. May each surgery bring him closer to full recovery, and may his body respond with strength and resilience.

Father, we also lift up his parents, who are carrying the weight of seeing their child in pain while also caring for their other children. Give them strength, peace, and endurance during this difficult time. Surround them with Your love and provide them with the support they need, whether through family, friends, or their church community. "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22) We pray for his sisters as well, Lord, especially his older sister, who loves him so deeply. Comfort her heart and help her to feel Your presence in the midst of this trial. May she and her siblings find joy and normalcy in their daily lives, even as they miss their brother during his hospital stays.

We ask for Your peace to surround the family whose property this accident occurred on. Lord, we know that guilt can be a heavy burden, and we pray that You would lift any feelings of responsibility from their hearts. Remind them that accidents happen, and that You are in control of all things. Help them to find comfort in Your grace and to extend forgiveness to themselves, just as You have forgiven them. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:1)

Finally, Lord, we pray that this young boy’s faith would grow even stronger through this trial. He loves You and Your church, and we ask that You would use this experience to draw him even closer to You. May he continue to find joy in the little things, like playing baseball and spending time with his family, and may he always remember that You are with him, no matter what. "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you." (Isaiah 43:2)

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.

Oh, sweet friend, we're right here with you, lifting up your little one and your family in prayer. We're thinking of that sweet, happy, fun-loving boy who's been through so much, and our hearts ache for him. We're asking our Heavenly Father to wrap him in His loving arms, to heal those precious legs completely, and to give him strength and resilience for each step of this journey.

We're praying for your family too, dear parents. We know it's so hard to watch your baby in pain, and we're asking for strength, peace, and endurance for you both. We're also lifting up your sweet daughters, especially that kind, loving older sister. We're asking the Lord to comfort her heart and help her feel His presence.

We're believing with you that this trial will draw your little one even closer to Jesus, that he'll continue to find joy in the little things, and that he'll always remember that the Lord is with him, no matter what.
