Father, thank You for being both serious and merciful! When Sarah laughed at Your Promise, asking Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I actually give birth to a child, when I am so old?’ 14 Is anything too difficult for the LORD? (מֵיְהוָ֖ה Yah·weh)?" Gen 18:13-14. T

LORD, You've convinced me. Forgive me for doubting. You CERTAINLY know how to reach my wife -- We've been asking for Your mercy and kindness to lead her to repentance, Rom 2:4 -- we've been praying You'd convict her of righteousness, sin and judgement to come, John 16:8 -- we've been praying You hedge her way with thorns, Hos 2:6-7 -- we've been praying You'd use her church and family, Matt 18:15-18 -- we've been praying You give her visions, dreams, prophecies, Joel 2:28-32, preaching, friends, evangelists... For 2 yrs 8 mo... Jesus, we are weary and heavy laden, let us take Your yoke upon ourselves and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and we rneed rest for our souls, Matt 11:28-30, as we cast ALL our cares upon You, The LORD, for. You care for us, 1 peter 5:7. Have mercy on us, forgive us for we all doubt at times, guide her, my son, her family, church and US, and turn her from darkness to light, from the power of shatan to God, Acts 26:18-20, for 'Nothing is TOO DIFFICULT for YOU! We join you in lifting up your wife and your marriage before the Lord, and we thank you for sharing this burden with us so faithfully after ### years and ### months of persevering prayer. We agree with you that nothing is too difficult for Yahweh and we stand on that truth with you.

You have prayed so biblically, and we affirm that. You are right to ask that His goodness would lead her to repentance, for Rom 2:4 says the goodness of God leads you to repentance, and to ask the Holy Spirit to convict her concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment as Jesus promised in John 16:8. To pray that He would hedge her way with thorns as in Hos 2:6 that she would not find her paths of darkness satisfying, and to pray that her family and her church would faithfully follow Matt 18:15 in love to restore her, are prayers fully according to His will. And we join you in asking that He would open her eyes, that she may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive remission of sins as in Acts 26:18.

We hear your weariness and your confession of doubting at times, and we gently rebuke that doubt together with you, not to condemn you but to call you back to steady faith. The Lord was both serious and merciful with Sarah when she laughed, and He asked, Is anything too hard for Yahweh in Gen 18:14, and declares in Jer 32:27 Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me. There is not. Sarah's doubt did not nullify His promise, and your moments of doubt do not nullify His power to reach your wife. James 1:6 tells us to ask in faith, without any doubting, and 1 Pet 5:7 tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. We also hear your weariness and we encourage you not to grow weary. Gal 6:9 says Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. Matt 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He sees your labor and your burden for your wife, your son, her family and her church.

We also affirm your commitment to your marriage. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman as God designed, and we honor your standing for your wife rather than abandoning that covenant. God hates the breaking of that covenant and delights in reconciliation and restoration when repentance comes. Continue to love her as Christ loves the church, with truth and mercy.

We pray together now.

Father, thank You that You are both serious and merciful, that nothing is too difficult for You. Forgive us for the times we have doubted Your power and Your willingness to save. We confess our weariness and we cast all our cares upon You because You care for us. Have mercy on this brother, on his son, on his wife, on her family and her church and on us. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved as Acts 4:12 declares, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus in 1 Tim 2:5, that You would do what only You can do. Pour out Your kindness to lead her to repentance, convict her deeply of sin, righteousness and judgment to come, hedge her way with thorns so she finds no peace in darkness, use preaching, Your Word, dreams, visions as You promised in Joel 2:28, and the loving correction of her church and family to turn her heart. Open her eyes and turn her from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus. Give this husband and father rest for his soul as he takes Your yoke and learns from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart. Guard his heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding as he makes his requests known to You in Phil 4:6-7. Let Your will be done in her life and in this marriage, and let Your name be glorified. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Savior. Amen.

We thank you for letting us hear your heart in this prayer. Two years and eight months of asking God for your wife, your son and your family is a long road to walk, and we hear how weary and heavy laden you feel right now. It makes sense that doubt and tiredness would surface after carrying this so faithfully for so long.

We are encouraged by your honesty before the Lord about that weariness and your desire to rest in Him while you keep casting your cares on Him. He sees your persistence, He cares for you and your family, and He is able to reach hearts in ways we cannot.

When a burden has been carried this long it helps not to carry it alone. We encourage you to invite one trusted pastor or mature brother to walk with you regularly in prayer, someone who can listen, pray with you, and help you keep perspective week by week. And as you wait, allow yourself simple rhythms of rest with your son and before the Lord, not as stepping back from prayer but as part of trusting Him with what you cannot control.

Father, we lift this husband to You, his wife, his son, and their families and church to You. Have mercy on them, give them rest for their souls, guard and guide each one, and lead them in Your will and kindness. Work in his wife's heart in the way only You can, drawing her from darkness to light as You see fit. Give this brother wisdom, peace, and strength for each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Is anything too difficult for the Lord is the question which the Lord himself put to Sarah, and the answer stands for you this day as it did for Abraham, Nothing is too difficult for thee, O Lord God. He who could give a child to the aged barren womb can give a new heart to one who now walks in darkness, for with God all things are possible and his arm is not shortened that it cannot save.

We have heard your cry after two years and eight months of prayer, and we join with you in casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you. You are weary and heavy laden, and Christ still speaketh, Come unto me and I will give you rest. Take his yoke upon you and learn of him, for he is gentle and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls even while you wait. We do not wonder that you are wearied, yet we urge you to be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

You have prayed rightly that the Lord would lead your wife to repentance, that he would convict her of sin and of righteousness and of judgment to come, that he would hedge up her way with thorns, and use the means of his appointed grace, the word, the church, the family, faithful friends and preaching. Continue in these prayers, for repentance is the gift of God. We are to preach repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus, and he is exalted on high to give repentance and remission. No sinner can produce this in himself. It must be wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit.

And here we must make distinction, for there is a repentance that is not unto life. There is a carnal repentance which is of the flesh, produced by fear of judgment, which trembles for a season and then returns to its sin. It does not give God glory and it does not last. True repentance unto life is a holy, healthy, heavenly work. It yields works meet for repentance, it is practical, it endures, it gives God glory, it makes the soul to abhor sin because of the love of Christ who pardoned it and to avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for us. It looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. Pray therefore not for a mere sorrow or a passing alarm, but for that godly sorrow which needeth not to be repented of, that repentance which makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and his great finished work.

Remember also that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, ordained of God and to be held in honour. Sex and living together belong within that covenant alone. We cannot ask God to bless any path which departs from this holy order, but we can and do ask him to turn the wanderer from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Christ. That is the turning described in Acts 26, and for that we plead with you.

Be encouraged that repentance lives as long as faith. It is not a thing done once and then forgotten, but sweet sister repentance abides with the believer all his days. And be encouraged also by the perseverance of the saints. He who hath begun a good work will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. If grace hath truly changed the heart, that change is radical and lasting, and those whom the Lord keepeth shall not depart from him, though they may stumble through weakness they shall be led back again into repentance.

So we will pray with you now. O Lord Yahweh, thou art both serious and merciful, and nothing is too difficult for thee. Forgive thy servants where we have doubted, and increase our faith. In thy kindness lead this wife to repentance according to Romans 2:4, convict her by thy Spirit according to John 16:8, hedge her way as thou hast promised, and grant her that true repentance unto life which is practical and enduring and which gives thee all glory. Restore purity, create in her a clean heart and renew a right spirit within her. Guard her husband and son, give them rest as they cast their cares upon thee, and keep this marriage covenant according to thy holy institution. Turn her, O Lord, from darkness to light, that she may receive remission of sins through faith in Jesus Christ alone, in whose name we ask it. Amen.

Nothing is too difficult for the Lord, and we join you in thanking Him that He is both serious in His holiness and merciful in His kindness. Your prayer honors Him, for you have asked according to His Word that He would turn your wife from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, as in Acts 26 verse 18 to 20.

We hear your weariness after two years and eight months of praying, and we pray with you for rest for your souls as you take Christ's yoke and learn from Him, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and as you cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you, as in Matthew 11 verses 28 to 30 and First Peter 5 verse 7. God has not forgotten your labor in prayer.

We affirm with you that marriage is a bond ordained by God. It is honorable and pure, and it is to be lived in chasteness and order. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, and holiness in marriage means to live faithfully with your own wife and to turn away from every form of fornication and impurity, for marriage preserves the holiness that comes through faith. We encourage you to continue to walk in that calling, to keep your own life pure, to pray and to do good, and to seek peace as you wait on the Lord.

We join you in praying as you have prayed, that the kindness of God would lead her to repentance according to Romans 2 verse 4, that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin and righteousness and judgment to come according to John 16 verse 8, and that where she may be going astray the Lord would hedge her way with thorns as in Hosea 2 verses 6 to 7 so that she would turn back. We pray also that the Lord would use the means He has appointed, the loving correction of the church according to Matthew 18 verses 15 to 18, the witness of family, the preaching of the Word, the counsel of friends and evangelists, and every true work of His Spirit, to bring her to genuine repentance. True repentance is not only tears or regret, but a turning of the heart that bears fruit.

We will pray for you, your son, your wife, her family and her church, that God who asked, Is anything too difficult for the Lord in Genesis 18 verse 14, and who declares in Jeremiah 32 verse 27 that nothing is too hard for Him, would work in power and mercy. We ask that He would grant her to see the truth, to turn to Christ alone for salvation, and to be restored to faithfulness in her marriage covenant, which is the lifelong union of one man and one woman in which alone sexual union and living together belong. We ask that He would guard you from doubt and give you the peace that passes understanding as you make your requests known to God with thanksgiving, according to Philippians 4 verses 6 to 7.

May the Lord strengthen you to persevere in prayer without ceasing, to remain steadfast in faith and in purity, and to trust His timing. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone saves and who is able to do what we cannot.
