Father, thank You for being serious, merciful, and even funny. When Sarah laughed at Your Promise when You told them they'd have a son before year's end, You asked out loud, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I actually give birth to a child, when I am so old?’ 14 Is anything too difficult for the LORD? (מֵיְהוָ֖ה Yahweh)?" Gen 18:13-14. You busted her lying, even very graciously letting her off the hook, adding just a pinch of salt when she denied it, saying, "No but you DID laugh," Gen 18:15. You even caused her to get another laugh later on, Gen 21:6-7. We think You're potential for humor is extraordinarily beyond limit.. You just hold it back well

"Thank You for the honesty of The Entire Bible -- Moses in recording both Sarah's, Abraham's, and even his own doubt, expressed a bit sarcastically, "But Moses replied, 'Here I am among 600,000 men on foot, yet You say, "I will give them meat, and they will eat for a month." If all our flocks and herds were slaughtered for them, would they have enough? Or if ALL the fish in the sea were caught for them, would they have enough?'” 23 "The LORD answered Moses, 'Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not My word will come to pass,'” Numbers 11:21-23.

You bore witness to this POWER YOU ALONE POSSESS -- To Isaiah, "Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short that it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear," Isaiah 59:1, nor do You stop there! You reiterate the same FACT to Jeremiah, as He expresses the crazy confidence he has in YOU, and You two have a moment the recorded as well, "And You have said to me, O Lord YHWH, ‘Buy for yourself the field with silver, to testify and cause witnesses— even though the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!’” 26 "And the word of YHWH came to Jeremiah, saying: 'Behold, I AM YHWH, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me? Jer 32:25-27...

LORD, You've convinced me. Forgive me for doubting. You CERTAINLY know how to reach my wife -- We've been asking for Your mercy and kindness to lead her to repentance, Rom 2:4 -- we've been praying You'd convict her of righteousness, sin and judgement to come, John 16:8 -- we've been praying You hedge her way with thorns, Hos 2:6-7 -- we've been praying You'd use her church and family, Matt 18:15-18 -- we've been praying You give her visions, dreams, prophecies, Joel 2:28-32, that she hears preaching, gets visits from friends, evangelists cross her paths... Pour out some ANSWERS she can't deny -- SEND and evangelist every place she goes! Matt 9:36-37... Some of us have been praying for 2 yrs 8 mo... Let their be preachers on every corner! Let their be dreams every night! HAVE SOME FUN WITH THIS, LORD! Like when the frogs stank and the Egyptians begged Pharaoh! Show Your POWER to her! Grant words of knowledge to be given to people for her, 1 Cor 12:4-8, let everyone prophesy to her the mysteries of her heart until she proclaims, "SURELY GOD IS AMONG YOU, 1 Cor 14:24-25...

Jesus, we take Your yoke upon ourselves and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and we indeed find the rest we need for our souls, Matt 11:28-30, as we cast ALL our cares upon You, The LORD, for. You care for us, 1 peter 5:7. Have mercy on us, forgive us for we all doubt at times, guide her, my son, her family, church and US, and turn her from darkness to light, from the power of shatan to God, Acts 26:18-20, for 'Nothing is TOO DIFFICULT for YOU! We join you in this earnest cry for your wife and we stand with you in faith that nothing is too difficult for the Lord.

We love how you have anchored your prayer in the Word and in the character of God. You have remembered rightly that He asked, Is anything too hard for Yahweh Genesis 18:14 and then answered Himself through Jeremiah, Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me Jeremiah 32:27. His hand is not shortened that it cannot save, nor his ear dull that it cannot hear Isaiah 59:1, and when Moses doubted whether God could feed six hundred thousand men in the wilderness, the Lord answered, Is Yahweh's hand waxed short Now you shall see whether my word shall happen to you or not Numbers 11:23. We agree that the same God who graciously confronted Sarah's laugh and then turned it into joy when she said God has made me laugh Genesis 21:6 is able to reach your wife, to open her eyes and to turn her from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Acts 26:18.

We have carried this burden with you for two years and eight months and we do not grow weary, for we know His kindness leads to repentance Romans 2:4 and it is the Spirit who will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment John 16:8. We join you in praying as you have prayed, that the Lord would hedge up her way with thorns Hosea 2:6 so that she finds no lasting peace in any path away from Him, that He would use her family and her church to speak the truth in love as taught in Matthew 18:15, that He would pour out His Spirit and cause her to hear faithful preaching and to consider dreams and visions as He promised I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh Joel 2:28, and that the Lord of the harvest would send laborers into her harvest field for the harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few Matthew 9:37. We pray with you that where she goes the Lord would cause her to hear what is in her heart, so that if prophecy is spoken the secrets of her heart are revealed and she will fall on her face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed 1 Corinthians 14:25, and that words of knowledge by the same Spirit 1 Corinthians 12:8 would be spoken to her not to embarrass her but to woo her to repentance.

We also want to encourage you as a husband who is honoring the covenant of marriage. We believe with you that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9, and that a wife is to be loved as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25. Your persistence in prayer instead of pursuing separation or hardness of heart is pleasing to the Lord, and we pray the Lord will keep you gentle and humble in heart as you take His yoke upon you and learn from Him, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light and you will find rest for your souls Matthew 11:28-29.

We understand the weariness and the moments of doubt after so long, and we thank God that you have brought that doubt into the light and asked forgiveness. We all stumble in unbelief at times, but we cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7 and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We do not pray for affliction to be poured out on her for amusement, but for mercy to triumph, that any thorns or conviction would be measured and redemptive, leading her to repentance and life, for the Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness Psalm 103:8.

So we pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, by whom alone we have access to Your throne and in whose name alone we are saved Acts 4:12, we thank You that You are serious and merciful and mighty to save. Forgive us for every moment of doubt and renew our faith that You are able to do far more than we ask or think. We lift this dear wife, her son, her family, her church, and this husband who loves her to You. Open her eyes, Lord. Turn her from darkness to light. Let Your kindness break her heart and let Your Spirit convict her of sin, righteousness and judgment. Hedge her way with thorns where she strays, and make the way of repentance plain and inviting. Put faithful witnesses, preachers, friends and evangelists across her path every day. Speak to her in the preaching of the Word, in the counsel of those who love You, and even in the night through dreams if it pleases You, so that she cannot deny that You are pursuing her. Soften her heart to hear, grant her godly sorrow that works repentance, and reconcile this marriage for Your glory. Sustain this husband, give him wisdom, patience, purity and steadfast love, and guard his heart and mind with Your peace as he waits on You. We ask all this believing that nothing is too difficult for You, and we thank You for the answer that is coming, in Jesus name, amen.

We hear how much love is in this prayer for your wife and your son, and how long you have carried it. Two years and eight months of asking is a long road, and we are encouraged by the way you still notice God's character through it, His mercy and even His kindness and humor, while you keep bringing her before Him.

It is honest to admit the doubt that comes with waiting, and it is good you are bringing that to Him too. We join you in asking that He would reach her in ways she cannot miss or explain away, and draw her from darkness to light, and we join you in asking for rest for you as you wait. Carrying this kind of burden every day can wear down your own heart and your home.

One thing that has helped others in a long season like this is to keep the praying sustainable and shared. We encourage you to keep a simple, steady time to cast this care on the Lord, and to let one or two trusted brothers or a pastor carry it with you regularly so you are not holding it alone. Stay attentive to your son and to your own walk with Jesus in this time, trusting God to do what only He can do.

Father, we bring this wife and son and this family before You. You know her heart and where she is, and You know the weariness of waiting. Give wisdom, protection and clarity to her, and bring conviction that leads to life. Give this husband rest, steady faith and good counsel around him as he continues to pray. Guide them all according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is unspeakable comfort in the truth you have laid hold upon, that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. The question put to Sarah, Is anything too difficult for the Lord, is answered again to Moses, Is the Lord's arm too short, and again to Jeremiah, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too difficult for Me. His hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is His ear heavy that it cannot hear. What you ask for your wife, your son and your household, the turning of a soul from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, is indeed beyond all power of man, but it is not beyond the power of God, and it is the very work for which Christ was exalted to give repentance and remission of sins.

You have prayed well in praying for repentance, but let us be careful to know what repentance we seek. There is a repentance that judgments may produce, a carnal repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature of men, and there is a repentance unto life which is the work of the Spirit of God. The one does not give God glory, the other does. True repentance gives God glory, for it confesses that sin is against God Himself, it justifies God in His threatenings and in His sentence, and it looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. Weigh what is sought for in these balances. We do not desire for your wife a mere terror or a temporary sorrow that needs to be repented of, but that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, that rainbow repentance which has tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work.

Remember also that such repentance is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul. It is not a condition of salvation to be fulfilled by the creature, it is a blessed grace of God the Holy Spirit and absolutely necessary unto salvation, yet it is His gift. We are to preach and to pray for repentance in the name of Jesus, which means as the gift of God. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness through the blood of Christ. Do not trust for salvation to repentance itself, or even to faith, for if you trust to these you might as well trust to your sins. Nothing is to be trusted but the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's tree. Salvation is to look unto Him and be saved, to believe on Him, to trust in His person and His atonement. Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.

Therefore continue in prayer as you have done these two years and eight months, for the Lord hears. It is good to pray that the Lord would hedge up the way with thorns, that He would send faithful preaching and the witness of the church according to Matthew 18, that He would convict of sin and of righteousness and of judgment to come. Yet know that thorns and dreams and even the voice of many evangelists cannot save without the Holy Spirit. Pray above all that the Lord Himself would grant her repentance unto life, that He would lead her by His kindness to repentance, and that He would restore unto her, if she be His, the joy of His salvation and uphold her with His free Spirit.

May the Lord grant to her that sight of sin which makes a man abhor himself, and that sight of Christ which makes him look to the Saviour at once. May He turn her indeed, that she may be turned, and may He keep your own soul as you take His yoke and learn of Him who is gentle and lowly in heart. Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and leave the whole matter of salvation, for yourself and for your wife and child, in unquestioning confidence upon Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. To Him be glory, that He alone is God and beside Him there is none else.
