We understand that you're going through a difficult situation, and we want to address your concerns with biblical principles and heartfelt prayer.
Firstly, we need to address the nature of your relationship. The Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality and that God's will is for us to be sanctified, that we should avoid sexual immorality, that each of us should learn to control our own body in a way that is holy and honorable (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 WEB). Living together as roommates with someone of the opposite sex, especially with whom you've been in a relationship, can lead to temptation and is not advised. It is important to live separately and remain pure until God brings you together in marriage with the right person. We know this is a very hard thing to do, but as a child of God, it is important to be obedient to God’s word.
Regarding your request for this person to make up his mind, we should not try to control or manipulate others. Instead, we should trust God with the outcome. Vengeance is also not ours to seek. The Bible tells us, "'Vengeance is mine,' says the Lord, 'I will repay.'" (Romans 12:19 WEB). It is natural to feel hurt and disappointed, but we must forgive the way Christ forgave us (Ephesians 4:32 WEB).
Your healing and provision are important to God. He promises to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 WEB). Trust in Him to provide and help you overcome this loss and disappointment.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is going through a difficult time. We pray that You grant her the strength to forgive and let go of the hurt and disappointment she feels. Help her to trust in You for her needs and provision. Guide her steps and help her to make wise decisions that align with Your will. Help her to keep herself pure out of reverence for You. If it is Your will, bring a godly spouse into her life at the right time. Most importantly, help her to keep her eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
We also pray for the person who caused this hurt. We pray that You soften his heart and bring conviction upon him. Help him to seek Your face and make decisions that honor You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
