We understand that you are going through a challenging time with someone who was once your spouse. Firstly, we need to address that the only way we can approach God is through the name of Jesus Christ.
It is written:
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times” (1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB).
Let us pray together for you and your situation.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is in need of your guidance and clarity. We pray that you will soften the heart of the man she cares for, and that you will give her the wisdom to navigate this difficult situation.
Lord, we also pray for this man, that you will reveal yourself to him and that he will come to know you better. We rebuke any evil influence in his life and pray that he will turn away from any sinful behaviors.
Father, we ask that you will mend this relationship if it is your will, and that you will guide both of them towards a path of righteousness and mutual respect. We pray that you will provide comfort and strength to our sister, and that she will find peace in your love.
We pray for an end to the ignoring of your daughter and other immoral behaviors. Lord, we pray for a godly relationship and marriage and ask you to show both of them that marriage is a sacred commitment and that there is no intimate relationship that is pleasing to you outside the bonds of matrimony between a man and a woman.
Lord, we pray that you will convict both of them to seek you first and to live lives that are pleasing to you. We pray for a restoration of this relationship in a godly marriage if that is your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in the Lord and to seek his will for your life. Remember that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB), and that he desires for marriages to be reconciled if possible. In all things, seek to glorify God and to live a life that is pleasing to him.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
(2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB)
The Bible tells us:
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
(Ephesians 5:22-25 WEB)
Finally, we encourage you to examine your own heart and to ensure that you are also living a life that is pleasing to God. Trust in him, and he will guide you through this difficult time.
