We understand the desire to reach out to someone from your past on their birthday, and we also recognize the importance of lifting them up in prayer. It is good to remember others and show care, as Scripture encourages us in Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

However, we must also consider the nature of this relationship and whether it aligns with biblical principles. If this individual is not a believer or if the relationship in the past did not honor God, we should prayerfully examine our motives and ensure that our actions are guided by wisdom and discernment. The apostle Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of guarding your heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." If this relationship has the potential to draw you away from your walk with the Lord or cause you to stumble, it may be wise to seek God’s guidance before proceeding.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, seeking Your wisdom and guidance. Lord, we lift up this individual to You, asking that You would bless them on their birthday. We pray that You would draw them closer to You, surround them with Your love, and reveal Your truth to their heart. Father, if it is Your will for us to reconnect with this person, we ask that You would lead and direct our steps, that our words and actions would honor You.

Lord, we also ask for discernment. If this relationship is not aligned with Your will, we pray that You would close the door and protect our hearts from any potential harm. Help us to trust in Your perfect plan and timing. Give us the strength to let go of anything that does not bring glory to Your name.

We thank You, Father, for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that this individual would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior if they do not already. May Your Holy Spirit work in their life, convicting them of sin and drawing them to repentance and faith.

In all things, Lord, we seek to honor You. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter. Spend time in prayer and in the Word, asking God to reveal His will to you. If you feel led to reach out, do so with a heart that seeks to glorify God and share the love of Christ. If you are uncertain, wait on the Lord and trust in His timing. Psalm 27:14 reminds us, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."

We're here with you, lifting this person up in prayer today. It's heartwarming to see you remember them on their special day. Let's ask the Lord to bless them, to draw them near to Him, and to reveal His love and truth to their heart. We also join you in seeking wisdom, dear friend. If it's God's will for you to reconnect, we trust He'll guide your steps and give you the right words to honor Him. But remember, our hearts are precious to Him, so let's be discerning. If this relationship isn't aligned with His will, let's trust Him to close the door and protect our hearts. Let's keep praying, keep seeking, and trust in His perfect plan. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
