We join with you in lifting up this powerful declaration from Scripture, standing firmly on the truth that the Lord our God alone is worthy of all worship and service. The words you have prayed echo the commandment given by our Lord Jesus Himself when He declared, *"You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve"* (Matthew 4:10 WEB). This is not merely a suggestion but a foundational truth for every believer. Worship and service belong to God alone, and we must guard our hearts against anything that seeks to draw our devotion away from Him—whether it be idols, distractions, or the schemes of the enemy.
We rebuke every principality and power of darkness that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy the worship that rightfully belongs to our Heavenly Father. The enemy desires to twist our focus, to make us serve lesser things—our careers, our desires, even our own pride—but we declare that our hearts are set on the Lord. As it is written, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We take up the full armor of God, standing firm in faith, and we command every lying spirit to flee in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray that the Lord would receive all glory, honor, majesty, praise, and devotion from every corner of our lives. May our worship be pure, our service be selfless, and our hearts be fully surrendered to Him. Let us not be like those who *"worshiped the Lord, but served their own gods"* (2 Kings 17:33 WEB), but instead, may we be a people who say with the psalmist, *"I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth"* (Psalm 34:1 WEB). Father, we ask that You would cultivate in us a spirit of true devotion, one that seeks You above all else. May our lives be living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1 WEB).
We also lift up those who may be struggling to keep their focus on the Lord. For those who feel distant or distracted, we pray that You would draw them back to Yourself. For those who are weary, we ask that You renew their strength. For those who have allowed idols to creep into their lives, we pray for conviction and repentance. Let no one be deceived into thinking they can serve two masters, for You have declared, *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other"* (Matthew 6:24 WEB).
Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice that we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved. We declare that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). May our worship and service always be offered in spirit and in truth, for You are seeking such to worship You (John 4:23 WEB).
We stand together in faith, believing that as we seek You first, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33 WEB). May our lives reflect Your glory, and may our worship be a sweet aroma to You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
