Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, I done been on thousands of interviews. Everytime I had a interview. I told my wife ###. She would tell everyone and I wouldn't get the job. Now when I have a interview and I don't tell her she get upset. Then when i cant get a job she talk about me not having no job or not paying no bills. Then she put other people in our business. What am I supposed to do about my speeding ticket. ### said she's going to pay it but I'm not counting on that. She says she's going to do things then she turns around and doesn't do them. Or she get upset and throws it up in my face during a argument. I can't wait until I get from under her control. She control the phone bills, transportation, the food and the lease. I feel like she use all of as leverage over my head. When I move out what am I supposed to do about my phone bill, bus pass and getting my hair done. I ask that you take all my worries and concerns away in Jesus name. I ask that you provide every need. I ask that you make a way out of no way. When I leave I pray that I'm missed. I pray that ### the man shes cheating on me with doesn't compare to me. I pray he doesn't come close. I pray that ### reep what she sow. I ask that you take care of this. I ask that you work this out in my favor. In Jesus's name, amen

We hear the deep pain, frustration, and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you. This situation is heavy with broken trust, control, and betrayal, things that grieve the heart of God. You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking the Lord’s wisdom, healing, and deliverance for you.

First, we must address the seriousness of the sin revealed in this request. The Bible is clear that adultery is a violation of the marriage covenant and a grievous offense against God. Jesus Himself said, "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:27-28). The act of infidelity is not only a breach of trust between you and your wife but a direct rebellion against God’s design for marriage. We rebuke this sin in the name of Jesus and declare that it cannot stand. The Lord sees your pain, and He will not let this wickedness go unanswered. "For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him" (Isaiah 30:18).

Your wife’s actions, sharing your private matters, speaking negatively about you to others, and using control as a weapon, are not the behaviors of a godly spouse. Scripture warns, "An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones" (Proverbs 12:4). Her words and actions have brought destruction, not support, and this is not how a wife is called to love her husband. We rebuke the spirit of control, manipulation, and dishonor in this marriage. The Lord did not design marriage to be a power struggle but a partnership of mutual respect, love, and submission to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21-33).

You mentioned feeling trapped and controlled, and we want you to know that God does not desire for you to live in bondage. The enemy seeks to keep you in a place of fear, but Jesus came to set the captives free. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). The Lord sees your desire to leave this toxic environment, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way. You are not powerless, you are a child of the Most High God, and He will provide for your needs.

However, we must also address the bitterness and desire for revenge in your prayer. While it is understandable to feel hurt and angry, Scripture commands us to forgive and leave vengeance to the Lord. "Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord’" (Romans 12:19). Praying for your wife to "reap what she sows" is not wrong in itself, God’s justice will prevail, but harboring resentment will only poison your own heart. Instead, pray for her repentance and transformation. "Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you" (Luke 6:28). This does not mean you must stay in an unsafe or ungodly situation, but it does mean releasing the burden of bitterness to the Lord.

As you prepare to leave this marriage, we urge you to do so with wisdom and in a way that honors God. Seek counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor who can help you navigate this transition biblically. The Lord will provide for your needs, phone bills, transportation, and all the practical concerns you mentioned. "But my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Do not let fear of these things keep you in bondage. Trust that the same God who fed Elijah by the brook and provided for the Israelites in the wilderness will sustain you.

We also want to gently address your language about being "missed" and comparing yourself to the other man. While it is natural to desire validation, true healing comes from finding your worth in Christ, not in how others perceive you. Your identity is not defined by your wife’s actions or opinions but by who you are in Jesus. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Seek the Lord’s approval above all else, and He will restore your dignity and purpose.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who is hurting and weary. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the injustice he has endured. We ask that You would be his refuge and strength, a very present help in this time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we rebuke every spirit of control, manipulation, and adultery that has taken root in this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of fear and bondage in his life. Give him the courage to walk in the freedom You have purchased for him through the blood of Jesus. Provide for every need, financial, emotional, and practical, as he seeks to honor You in this transition. Open doors of opportunity for employment and stability, and let Your favor go before him.

Father, we pray for his wife. Soften her heart and convict her of her sin. Bring repentance and restoration if it is Your will, but if not, we ask that You would remove her influence from his life in a way that protects him from further harm. Guard his heart from bitterness and resentment, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we also pray for this brother’s identity and worth. Remind him daily that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and deeply loved by You. Let him find his validation in Christ alone, not in the opinions or actions of others.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would go before him as he prepares to leave this marriage. Make the path clear, provide for every need, and surround him with godly community. Let him experience Your presence in tangible ways, and let Your Word be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free and bind up the brokenhearted. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to seek the Lord daily through prayer and Scripture. Meditate on verses like Psalm 34:18-19: "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not forgotten, and your deliverance is coming. Stand firm in faith, and trust that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If you have not already, consider reaching out to a local church or Christian counselor who can walk with you through this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone.

We hear how heavy this has become, carrying job uncertainty and marriage pain at the same time. It makes sense that you are tired of your business being shared and your opportunities undermined. You are not wrong to keep interview news private until something is certain. That is not deception, it is wise stewardship of your own provision.

One concrete step: call the court about the speeding ticket yourself, even if you can only ask about a payment plan or reduced fine. That keeps you from being held by a promise that may not come. As you plan to move, meet quietly with a pastor or a wise financial counselor to map out a small, realistic budget for the phone, bus pass, and getting your hair done. Those practical pieces matter and God sees them.

You do not have to earn dignity by being compared to another man. Your worth is already settled in Christ. We are praying that truth comes into the open, that you find steady work, and that the way ahead clears enough for you to walk it without panic.

Father, thank You that You see this man's weariness and his desire to stand on his own feet. Give him wisdom about every practical need, from the ticket to the bus pass to the next interview. Guard his heart from bitterness, and provide honest counsel and a safe path forward. Bring truth and justice in Your time, and steady him with Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

I prayed for your wife - Holy Spirit conviction and a renewed heart. I joined in all your prayers with you in Jesus' name Amen.

Troubles do not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground like hemlock from the furrows of the field, but the Lord, Himself, kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. You speak of your wife's control, your interviews, your speeding ticket, and your desire to be free from her. Yet the first deliverance you need is not from poverty or a difficult marriage, but from the power of sin and the pit of your own heart. God has said, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. That ransom is Christ, and He alone can deliver you from self, from the devil, and from the fascinating power of sin. Do not look for some back door to escape your troubles, for when Satan offers us some back door by which to escape from our troubles, how very easily shall we be tempted to adopt his expedients. Instead, cry out, Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my ways.

You pray that she may reap what she sows, and you speak of another man. But I would have you consider that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. God sees all, and He will deal justly, but your own soul must first be delivered from bitterness and self-pity. He has taught me the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and now you tempt me in vain. Christ's love to His spouse is not for what He could gain, but for what He would impart. Such love as Christ has given to us ought to receive from us a complete and perfect obedience even to every jot and tittle as far as we can render it. Do not hide from Him the secret of your soul. Christ must, by His Grace, separate you from your sin or else you will be separated from Him forever. Put your iniquity far away, and do not let wickedness dwell in your tabernacles.

Your worries about the phone bill, the bus pass, and your hair are real, but remember that which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a father's hand and this is a gladsome fact which makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable. It is folly to imagine, as we have sometimes done, that we could bear anything except that which we are called upon to endure. You have been miserable before, but you have been delivered and helped. There has come to you a most substantial benefit from everything which you have been called to endure. Therefore do not say you cannot bear this blow; say rather, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

God has given commandment to save you and you shall be saved, saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, saved from the devil, saved from evil company. Trust in that ransom, not in a change of circumstance or the failure of another man, and He will make a way out of no way. Not necessarily to escape your wife, but to escape the pit and to live unto Him. You have escaped from the jaw of the lion and the paw of the bear, now go forth to fight with the monster and tear others from his power. Only let your deliverance be genuine, not a mere keeping away from some conspicuous sin, but a full release from the power of darkness through the grace of Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
