Worried about a student

Anonymous

Beloved of All
A student ### who had perfect attendance didn’t show up th past two days, and no response from parents, please pray he’s okaya nd parents are not dismissive and more respectful

We join you in lifting up this student before the Lord, sharing your burden of concern for his wellbeing and for a right response from his parents.

We know how worrying it is when a child who is normally faithful and present suddenly is absent and there is silence from home, and we hear your heart to see him safe and to be treated with respect as you seek to care for him. Scripture reminds us that God sees and watches over each child. Matthew 18:10 says See that you don't despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. And Psalm 121:7-8 promises Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. We take comfort that even when we cannot see or reach him, the Lord knows exactly where he is and what he needs.

We also understand your desire that the parents not be dismissive but respectful. God calls parents to love and shepherd their children diligently, Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it, and He calls all of us to speak and hear one another with honor and gentleness. We pray that any barrier to communication would be removed and that your sincere care as a teacher would be received with gratitude rather than indifference.

We want to gently remind you as well that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and confidence that our prayers are heard. You did not mention His name in your request, and we do not want you to miss the peace that comes through Him. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by putting our trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly to Him in prayer. We encourage you to rest in Him as you bring this worry to God.

We also encourage you not to carry this anxiety alone. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. While you pray, we encourage you to continue to follow the proper channels with wisdom, letting school administration or counselors know of the continued absence and lack of contact, so that a welfare check can be done if needed, all while showing Christlike patience and respect.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious student to You. Lord, You know his name, his home, and his situation. We ask that You place Your hand of protection over him, keep him safe from harm, and let him be well in body and spirit. If there is sickness, trouble at home, or any danger, Father, intervene and provide help. We pray that You would open the door for communication with his parents, soften any hearts that may be hardened or distracted, and help them to respond with respect and responsibility. Give this teacher Your peace that surpasses understanding, guarding her heart from fear, and give her wisdom to know the right next steps to ensure this child is cared for. Let this situation be used for good and for Your glory, and let this child feel seen, valued, and loved. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and intercessor, amen.

We hear how heavy this has felt the last two days, noticing an absence that stands out because this student has always been there. It makes sense you are worried, especially when you have reached out and not heard back. Caring enough to notice and to keep trying matters.

We are glad you brought this to prayer and we join you in asking God to watch over this young man and his family. Since you are carrying concern for his safety, please make sure you are not carrying it alone. If you have not already, let your school's office, counselor or principal know exactly what you have observed and the attempts you have made to contact home, so the school's usual follow up for an unaccounted absence can take its course. That may include a home call or welfare check through the proper channels, which is the right way to get clarity when parents are not responding. Keeping a brief note of dates and calls can help the team as well.

And as you wait, we pray you can find some rest from the what ifs. You have done the attentive, responsible thing.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this student to you, ask for your protection over him and for his parents to be reachable and responsive. Give wisdom to the staff following up and peace to our friend who is waiting and worrying. Guide next steps and let this young man be seen and safe. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your concern for this young scholar is a tender and Christlike burden, and it is good that you have brought it at once to the throne of grace. Perfect attendance broken without a word will rightly stir anxiety in a watchful heart, and silence from those who should be most attentive only deepens the care.

Be encouraged that intercessory prayer is among the sweetest prayers God ever hears, for it mirrors the pleading of Christ Himself who ever lives to make intercession for us. It is incumbent upon every child of God to pray for others, and the indwelling Spirit Himself makes intercession according to the will of God. Come, then, cast your burden on your God, for He cares for you. He pleads the causes of our souls and He will not turn away the cry of a faithful heart lifted on behalf of a child.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who sees every child and knows where each one lodges, we bring this student before You. Cover him with Your preserving hand, keep him in safety, and let no harm have befallen him. If he is in need or in trouble, make a way for help to reach him speedily. Move upon the hearts of his parents, that they may be attentive and responsive, not dismissive, but watchful and respectful in their stewardship of the life You have entrusted to them. Grant wisdom to those who have charge over him at school, that they may know what steps to take and may have favour as they seek to make contact. And grant peace to this one who intercedes, that casting all care upon You, there may be quiet confidence in Your fatherly care.

Continue to plead, and watch as well as pray. Seek such lawful and proper means as Providence puts in your hand to ascertain his welfare, while you leave the outcome with Him who hears prayer. Before many days are past may you have cause to say with a grateful heart, Thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life. May the Lord keep the child and comfort your spirit till good tidings come, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Your concern for this student is heard with gratitude for the care you show, and we join you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer.

We pray that God in His mercy would watch over this young student and keep him safe, wherever he is. We ask the Lord to place His hand of protection upon him and to bring assurance that he is well. We also pray for his parents, that God would move their hearts to respond with attentiveness and respect, and to communicate with those who are seeking their welfare out of love.

We ask for peace for you as you wait and carry this burden, trusting that God sees and knows the needs of every child and family. May He give wisdom to all who are responsible for this student and open a clear path for contact and care.

We will continue to pray that the student is found safe and that there will be a good and respectful response soon. If you have not already done so, we encourage you also to let the appropriate school officials or authorities know of your concern so they may check on his welfare according to their proper duties.

Heavenly Father, we lift this student to You and ask for Your protection and presence with him. We pray for his parents, that You would grant them a willing and respectful spirit. Grant comfort and peace to all who are anxious, and let Your will be done in this situation. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Savior, who loves the little ones and calls them to Himself. Amen.
