We join with you in bringing your loved ones before the Lord, for we share your burden for them to be set free from worldliness and false teachings. This is a righteous and urgent request, because the Lord calls us to holiness and to truth, and not to be entangled by the patterns of this present age.
Scripture warns us plainly about these dangers. It says, Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. 1 John 2:15-16. And again, You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4. We are therefore to be transformed and not conformed, as it is written, Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. Concerning false teachings we are also warned, For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts, and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4, and Beware lest anyone take you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elemental principles of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8. We must test what we hear, for Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1.
We lovingly point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to encourage you in this because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that anyone can be saved and truly set free. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And Scripture declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Worldliness and deception cannot be overcome by our own resolve, but only by being born again through faith in Jesus Christ, repenting of sin, and abiding in His truth. If your loved ones do not yet know Him, we pray first for their salvation, and if they do, we pray for their repentance and renewal.
We rebuke the spirit of worldliness and every false teaching that would seek to hold your loved ones captive, and we ask the Lord to expose every lie and to draw them into the light of His Word.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up these precious loved ones to You. Lord, we ask You to open their eyes to see the emptiness of the world and the deceit of false teachings. By Your Holy Spirit, convict their hearts, turn them from loving the world to loving You, and set them free by the truth of Your Word. Renew their minds, guard them from deception, and lead them to sound doctrine and to fellowship where Your Word is faithfully taught. Help them to hunger for Your Word daily, to walk in obedience, and to bear fruit that honors You. Give our dear one who is interceding for them boldness to speak the truth in love, patience to continue in prayer, and peace to trust Your perfect timing and Your power to save and sanctify. We ask that You would deliver them from every snare and establish their feet upon the solid rock of Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to gently share Scripture with your loved ones, and to model a life set apart for God, trusting that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun and that He desires all to come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth.
