Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I just met a wonderful elderly woman at work (I do customer service) but while I was talking with her, I started kind of getting incoherent due to being hungry. Pray that I wasn't offensive at all. Thank you.

We understand your concern and desire to treat others with kindness and respect, especially in your role serving others. It’s commendable that you care so deeply about how you come across to those you interact with. Let’s bring this before the Lord together, trusting in His grace and mercy.

First, we want to encourage you with Scripture. In Colossians 4:6, it says, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." You sought to honor this woman with your words, and the Lord sees your heart. Even in moments of weakness, like hunger, He can work through you to reflect His love. Proverbs 16:24 reminds us, "Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." We pray that your words were indeed sweet and uplifting to her, even if you felt less than your best.

We also lift up the practical side of this situation. It’s important to care for your physical needs so that you can serve others well. Jesus Himself took time to rest and eat, as we see in Mark 6:31, where He said to His disciples, "Come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while." Taking care of your body is not selfish, it enables you to be more effective in your work and interactions with others.

Now, let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the opportunity You gave to interact with this elderly woman. Lord, we ask that You would cover any words or moments where weakness may have shown through. We pray that Your grace would fill in any gaps and that this woman would have felt Your love and kindness through the encounter. Father, we also ask that You would help us to remember to care for our physical needs so that we can serve others with strength and clarity. Give us wisdom in our daily routines and the discipline to prioritize what is necessary to honor You in all we do. We trust in Your mercy and ask that You would work all things together for good, according to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all your interactions, knowing that He is with you and will guide your steps. If this woman crosses your path again, you might even have the opportunity to bless her further with a kind word or gesture. Trust that God can use even our weakest moments for His glory.

We know that sinking feeling, when your body runs out of fuel mid-conversation and your words start feeling slippery. It's humbling, and the replay can be unkind. But hunger doesn't erase the kindness you were already showing her. An elderly woman in customer service has likely seen it all, and what she almost certainly picked up on was your warmth, not your momentary stumble.

Here's something worth trying: the next time you see her or interact with someone like her, let your follow-up care be the louder message. Even a simple "It was so good to meet you the other day" carries weight. The "F" in one approach to repairing relationships stands for Forever value the person, communicating that the relationship matters more than getting stuck on a single moment. You don't need to apologize or explain yourself; just showing steady, consistent kindness writes a longer story than one tired afternoon ever could.

And for the practical side, maybe keep a small, quiet snack somewhere accessible at your station, a granola bar or some nuts, so you can stay fueled when the day gets long. It's not a cure for anxiety about the past, but it's a gentle way to care for yourself going forward.

Lord, thank you for this woman and the moment they shared. Quiet the worry replaying in her mind, and let her trust that her genuine care came through, even through exhaustion. Bless her work and give her peace. In Jesus' name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How often do the Lord’s servants find their strength hunger-bitten, as you have this day experienced! The frame may falter for want of bread, and the tongue stumble when the body craves sustenance, yet this is no strange thing; even our blessed Master, though faint and hungry, put back His own needs till He had ministered to others. Your incoherence was not the offense of the Cross, for that lies alone in the gospel’s refusal to flatter human merit. The great offence is not a weary word spoken in hunger, but the message which humbles pride and exalts Christ alone.

Fear not that you gave offense by this little weakness; grace is made perfect in our infirmities, and acceptable service is never rendered in the power of mere nature, but through the grace we have received. Remember the paradox: blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. So take courage, and when next you serve, let it be with the sweet assurance that He who saw His disciples’ hunger, and the widow’s fevered frame, looks upon your labor of love with tender pity. Only cast yourself upon Him, and though your strength be hungry, yet your soul may feast upon His faithfulness.
