Work

You ask for prayer as you and your coworkers begin another shift, and I am glad to lift that before the Lord. There is something good and God-honoring about simply showing up, ready to do the work set before you. Scripture reminds us that if a person is able but unwilling to work, that same person should not expect to eat. Labor itself, even the daily grind, is a gift from God, and it is right to ask Him to bless it.

The Lord is the one who puts skill and wisdom into the hearts of men and women to do all kinds of work. He can stir a willing heart just as surely as He can give you a steady hand and a clear mind. When you clock in, you are not alone. The same God who promised to complete the good work He began in you has not left you to fend for yourself during an ordinary workday. You can trust Him to work in the circumstances of your job for a purpose you may not yet see.

A good day is not something small to God. It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord, and it is right to ask Him to let you enjoy the fruit of your labor. May He grant you and those beside you a day free from unnecessary trouble, a sense of His presence in the tasks you do, and a reason to return home with gratitude rather than frustration. Pray that whatever happens, you will be able to see His hand at work beneath the surface, shaping things in ways you cannot rush or force.

I posted this recently: "I'm about to go to work soon. Please pray it would be a good day for myself and my coworkers." I feel particularly overwhelmed today about work and I believe my coworkers do too. Please pray for us. Thank you.

Please pray for me about work - that myself and my coworkers would make it through all issues and concerns we have about our job. Pray for me to do well on my job and not be burnt out. I don't really get many calls (I work from home) compared to my coworkers but sometimes I still get overwhelmed...
