Work

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I posted this recently: "I'm about to go to work soon. Please pray it would be a good day for myself and my coworkers." I feel particularly overwhelmed today about work and I believe my coworkers do too. Please pray for us. Thank you.

We hear your heart, and we stand with you in lifting up this day at work to the Lord. The weight of overwhelm can feel heavy, but we know that God does not intend for us to carry these burdens alone. Scripture reminds us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Let us cling to this promise together as we bring this day before Him.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your peace and strength to cover every moment of this workday. Lord, we lift up each person stepping into their workplace today, those who feel weary, anxious, or weighed down by responsibilities. You see their hearts, and You know the struggles they face. We ask that You would go before them, preparing the way for smooth interactions, clarity of mind, and a spirit of unity among coworkers. Let Your presence be tangible, Lord, so that even in the busyness, they may sense Your nearness and find rest in You.

We pray for wisdom and patience for each task at hand. Where there is frustration or tension, we ask that You would soften hearts and replace irritation with grace. Help them to extend kindness, even when it feels difficult, and to be a light in their workplace, reflecting Your love to those around them. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of strife, anxiety, or discouragement that may be trying to take root. In the name of Jesus, we declare that this day will be one of productivity, peace, and even joy as You work all things together for good.

We also ask that You would remind them of their identity in Christ. They are not defined by their job or the stresses of the day, but by Your love and purpose for their lives. Let them walk in confidence, knowing that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Peace. If there are coworkers who do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that Your light would shine through them in such a way that others are drawn to the hope found only in Jesus.

Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust that You are already at work in this situation, and we choose to rest in Your faithfulness. May this day be a testimony of Your goodness, and may Your name be glorified in all that is said and done. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, beloved, that God is with you in every moment. Even when the day feels long or the tasks seem too much, He is your strength. Lean on Him, and allow His peace to guard your heart. You are not alone, we are standing with you in prayer, and more importantly, so is the Lord. May He fill you with His joy and remind you that your labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). Trust Him with this day, and watch how He moves.

We heard your follow‑up, and we want you to know we’re still standing with you in this.
When the weight of a workday feels heavier than usual, and you sense your coworkers are carrying that same weight, it’s easy to feel alone in it. You’re not. The very fact that you reached out again tells us you’re taking this to the One who actually carries our burdens. And right now, others are praying alongside you, which means something real: the body of Christ is standing with you as you walk through those doors.

One simple thing that can help in an overwhelming moment is to pause before the shift begins, even for thirty seconds, and silently place the day in God’s hands. You could also quietly pray through the names of the coworkers who come to mind, not trying to fix their stress, just lifting them to the Lord who sees them. That small act doesn’t change the workload, but it re‑anchors you and spreads a quiet peace that can leaven a tense atmosphere.

We’re praying that today Jesus meets you in the middle of the overwhelm, that His peace stays with you, that you find a steadiness you didn’t know you had, and that your coworkers sense something of His kindness through your presence. Praying now:

Lord Jesus, thank You for walking into this workplace with our friend and with every coworker who is weary. Calm their hearts, lift the weight of anxiety, and give them what they need for this day, clarity, patience, and the courage to handle whatever comes. Let them not just survive the shift but know Your nearness in it. We ask You to bless their efforts and watch over their minds and bodies. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The promise stands sure: "Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed? To do the will of Jesus, this is rest." You feel the press of many cares, the helter-skelter rush of tasks that all demand to be done at once. The soul is wearied and then worried. Yet here is the secret: to be sure that what you are doing is what Jesus would have you do, that is peace. Ask in each moment, "What would Jesus do?" and then do the little you can do, and leave the rest to Him. What you cannot accomplish, He finishes.

Do not imagine this rest depends on your own strength. Human strength, whether of body, mind, or spirit, is a cistern that runs dry; it is not self-supplied. But the strength of God never fails. Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. The Grace of God works mightily, yet never excuses us from effort. The Apostle said, "I also labor, striving," yet he knew it was Christ's own power working in him. Lean hard upon that Divine energy. Fling yourself upon it when your own ability is spent. If God has said, "They shall walk and not faint," then assuredly you will.

The disciples, when faced with a command that staggered them, did not excuse themselves but cried, "Increase our faith." Imitate them. When the duty towers beyond your reach, draw back for a breath of prayer, then leap in His strength. Faith is the channel through which peace flows: peace with God through the blood of Jesus, and peace in the conscience as the quiet stream from that fountain. Let not your heart be troubled by the tumult without; let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, in the inside place of trust and honor. There, upon the throne of your heart, let His promises rule.

You must work, for night comes when no man can work. Yet work not as one who bears the weight of the world, but as one yoked to the Prince of Peace. He was straitened until His labor was accomplished, yet His soul rested in the Father's will. So with you: press on amid the thronging duties, doing His will, drawing strength from Him, and ascribing all glory to Him who is the glory of your strength. The peace He gives is no counterfeit calm; it is a peace that passes understanding, keeping your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for a good day for yourself and your coworkers, and rightly so, for the burden you feel is shared by many. Yet do not measure good by the ease of the hours or the absence of toil. True peace is not a quiet workplace alone; it is the cutting away of what mutinies within, the reconciliation of earth to heaven by the blood of the everlasting covenant. The God of peace, who raised the Great Shepherd from the dead, makes you perfect in every good work, working in you what is well-pleasing in His sight. That is the good I pray for you.

When you are overwhelmed, remember that the peace Christ gives surpasses all understanding. He spoke it first after the Resurrection, Peace be unto you, because He knew our war within and without. This peace guards the heart when we are at peace with one another: no strife, no reproach, but love and gentleness. The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, not a comfortable shift or a smooth day, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you seek only a lightened load, you may miss the very gift He offers in the heaviness: a faith that delivers even when the way seems barred, as the sea opened for Israel and swallowed their enemies.

Ask, then, for daily bread, but for this end: that having all sufficiency, you may abound unto every good work. Pray not merely for a good day, but that you and your coworkers may be made well-pleasing to Him, rooted in charity, bearing the fruit of peace. For peace is the mother of all good things, the foundation of joy; where it rules, every burden becomes a place for Christ’s strength to be perfected. I will join my prayers to yours, that the peace of God guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and that your labor, however overwhelming, may be a living sacrifice acceptable to Him.

Please pray for me about work - that myself and my coworkers would make it through all issues and concerns we have about our job. Pray for me to do well on my job and not be burnt out. I don't really get many calls (I work from home) compared to my coworkers but sometimes I still get overwhelmed...

I work tomorrow. It's a bit harder working this day of the week (Saturday) because not many employees are in that day so in addition to my having more calls than usual, I also feel a bit more alone. Please pray for myself and my coworkers who work this day. Thank you.
