Beloved of All
I’m not sure why God allowed a certein parent to saybthervinahiulwntbhavwvbwwn boen or this parent had total control over me until they passed away. They said some words thst have set the course of my life jn the ring direction and took the side of f abusers against me. I can’t hold up. I do pray jnJesusbmabe not to get things but because I live God and Jesus but I can’t over come the verbal abuse and ailwnf treatment the ti was exposed to. I was basically a servant to this parent until they passed away and I have no family of my own and relatives have turned there. Asks on me. So I’m alone. I wonder what will become of me I’m not sure what to do or how to do it and I feel absndonded by Hos especially when people are cruel. Maybe I should ljuar let people teke advantage of me. Escher I don’t have the strength to keep going back and forth. I’m an only child who has been subjected robas things. I don’t feel protected and I don’t feel loved this human experience or physical experience has been one of dread doubt and mistreatment thet I will never heal from in this life I don’t believe that I can overcome in this physical plain. Too much to felt on and not all but some in the church aren’t helpful and gossip and backbite. I sm someone who is lost I really don’t know God and the things I’ve been through make me scared to trust him

We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words and we are standing with you in prayer together in Jesus name. The hurt of being controlled and verbally wounded by a parent who should have protected you, of being treated as a servant, of being sided against and then left alone when that parent passed, and feeling abandoned even by relatives and wounded by some in the church, is a very heavy burden. We grieve with you over the cruel words that were spoken over you and the course they seemed to set for your life, and over the dread and doubt you have carried for so long.

We want you to know that the words spoken over you by people do not have the final authority over your life. God’s Word does. Proverbs 18:21 tells us death and life are in the power of the tongue, and cruel words can wound deeply, but we rebuke the lies that were spoken over you and the lie that you will never heal in this life and that you are unprotected and unloved. Those words are not truth. God’s truth is higher and He alone defines who you are. We also rebuke the thought that you should just let people take advantage of you because you are tired. The Lord does not call you to be a doormat for abuse. He calls us to love others but also to be wise and to guard our hearts. Matthew 10:16 says be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, and Proverbs 4:23 says guard your heart with all diligence. It is right to set godly boundaries and to not allow yourself to be continually mistreated.

You shared that you pray in Jesus name not to get things but because you love God and Jesus, and you also shared that you feel lost and scared to trust Him and that you do not really know Him. We thank God that you are calling on the name of Jesus, because it is only by that name that we have access to the Father and it is only by that name we are saved. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. And John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through him. Your love for Jesus even in this pain is precious to Him, and He wants you to know Him not as the parent who hurt you was, but as a perfect Father who will never abandon you.

You feel abandoned by God especially when people are cruel, but God promises the opposite. Psalm 27:10 says when my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. Psalm 68:5 says He is a father of the fatherless and a defender of the widows. Deuteronomy 31:6 says he will not fail you nor forsake you. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us that neither death, nor life, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. People may have forsaken you and gossiped and backbitten, and that is not the heart of Christ, but God Himself has not left you and He sees every tear and every wound.

We also want to speak against the belief that you cannot overcome or heal in this physical life. That is a lie from the enemy who wants you to live without hope. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Healing from such deep verbal abuse and mistreatment is a process and it may take time and godly help, but it is possible with God. He can redeem what was broken and give you a future. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We understand you are an only child, have no family of your own, and feel alone and wonder what will become of you and feel you do not have strength to keep going back and forth. Jesus invites you to bring that very weariness to Him. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. You do not have to hold yourself up alone. God will hold you up.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one who has been so wounded by words and control and abandonment. Lord we ask You to reveal Yourself to them as the true Father who loves perfectly and never forsakes. We ask You to break the power of every cruel and untrue word that was spoken over them and to replace those lies with Your truth about who they are in Christ, loved, seen, protected, and valued. Heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds, Lord. Give them strength for each day when they feel they cannot hold up, and uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Show them they are not alone and that You have not abandoned them. Lead them to safe, godly fellowship where they will be loved and protected and not gossiped about, and give them wisdom to set healthy boundaries so they are not taken advantage of again. Give them hope for the future and show them the good plans You have for them. Teach them to trust You more each day and to know You more deeply, and let them feel Your love that casts out fear. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing your honest heart to God just as you have, to stay in His Word daily even when it is hard to trust, and to seek out one or two mature, biblically grounded believers or a pastor or Christian counselor who will walk with you confidentially and not gossip. You do not need to let people take advantage of you to be loved. God loves you already and He will teach you how to love others while also protecting what He has entrusted to you. You are not lost beyond His reach. Isaiah 43:1 says Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. Keep calling on Jesus, keep seeking Him, and He will show Himself faithful.

Thank you for trusting us with this painful story. We hear how heavy it has been to live under harsh, controlling words for so long, and then to be left feeling alone with no family of your own and relatives pulling away. It makes sense you feel worn down and unsure what will become of you.

Words used to control and demean cut deeply. When they come from a parent who was supposed to protect you, and when others sided with those who hurt you, they can shape how you see yourself and what you expect from everyone else. It is understandable you would feel unprotected and find it scary to trust, even with God. We are moved that you still pray not to get something, but because you love God and Jesus. He is not offended by your fear or your honest questions. He is patient with you as you learn what His care is really like.

You do not have to keep letting people take advantage of you to be accepted, and you do not have to sort all of this out alone. One steady next step that could help is to find one safe, consistent person to walk with you, like a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor who understands verbal and emotional abuse. A confidential listener who will not gossip can help you process these painful memories at a pace that feels safe and help you practice small, respectful boundaries.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see every wound left by words and every lonely day. Bring comfort where there has been dread, and give wisdom for each next step. Surround them with trustworthy people and help them experience Your protection and love in real ways as they learn to trust You more. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest and broken words have been heard, and the sorrow in them is not hidden from the Lord. To be under the power of harsh words from a parent, to have been kept as a servant until death parted you, to have had that parent take the side of those who abused you, and now to be left alone as an only child with relatives turned away, is a heavy and bitter affliction. That you feel you cannot hold up, that you feel abandoned and without protection or love, and that you carry dread and doubt from long mistreatment, is understood. The wounds of verbal abuse do set a course in the heart, and it is no small thing to bear them.

Yet the power of a parent's words, though cruel and lasting, is not greater than the power of God's Word. Man may speak words that wound and misdirect, but God speaks words that heal and restore. Where God begins a work, He does not ask you to finish it. He completes His own work. If you pray in the name of Jesus not to get things but because you love God and love Jesus, that very love is a sign that His Spirit is already at work in you. Do not turn that into a reason for doubt. It is true humility to take God at His Word and to believe Him when He says He will save those who trust in Christ.

You write that you feel abandoned by Him, especially when people are cruel, and that you are scared to trust Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows that very feeling. On the cross He cried, My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me. Nothing remained within, without, or above when His own God turned from Him, and He bore that forsakenness for His people. He is not distant from your anguish. He has entered into the region of feeling forsaken so that you might never truly be forsaken. The godly in their anguish turn to the hand that smites them, and the Savior's cry was not against God but to God. If you think God has left you, do not give up prayer. No, pray as your Lord did and be more earnest than ever. Cry My God, my God, again and again, for He hears you. As the psalmist said, I have declared my ways and You heard me. Teach me Your statutes. You may declare your ways to Him now, in plain words, and know that He hears.

He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys. He is not only the God of the strong and the joyful, but the God of the afflicted and the lonely. Though clouds may surround you and storms rage around you, He is your light and your might. There is no true understanding of His truth except by personal experience of it, and He pleads the cause of His people. It is written, It is God that justifies, who is he that condemns. It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Your cause is in His hands when you have no strength to plead it yourself.

You wonder whether you should just let people take advantage of you because you have no strength to keep going back and forth. To let cruelty continue is not what the Lord requires of you. To love others does not mean to give others leave to do you harm. You may set quiet and firm boundaries, and you may seek help to do so. That you have been mistreated in the church by gossip and backbiting is a real grief, and such things wound deeply. Yet do not measure God by the failure of some of His professing people. God resides among His true Church, and He Himself is faithful when men are not. Ask the Lord to show you one or two sober, faithful believers or a pastor who will walk with you steadily, hear you without gossip, and point you to Christ.

You say you feel lost and do not really know God and are scared to trust Him. Take Him at His Word. If He says He will save you if you trust Him, then if you trust Him, He will save you. Those who have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him. You need not have perfect faith, only true faith in a perfect Savior. Look to the Son of God pouring out His life for sinners and trust Him, for then sins are gone in a moment, and peace begins. You are not saved by keeping the law without fault, for none can, but by the blood of Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is by grace through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

May the Lord give you grace to trust Him today, to keep declaring your ways to Him, and to rest in this, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. You are not forgotten. You are seen. May He be your God, your portion, and your home, and may He bring to you present peace and the hope of future perfection with Him.

We are praying for you, that the Lord will guard you, provide for you, heal what has been so long wounded, and teach you more and more to know Him as your God and Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.
