🙇🏻 "Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it has with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked people; for not all have faith.3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one," 2 Thes 3:1-2,3. Father, we ask Your Word gets the respect and priority it deserves in our lives, in the church and the world -- Deut8:3, Job23:12, Isa 55:2, Ps 119:103, Matt 4:4, Rev 2:17, Rev 19:13. May it be made effectual in its ministry to ourselves, our hearers & readers, 1 Tim 4:16, and may it cover much ground to an end of international discipleship, i.e. Baptism & Teaching Obedience to The Sum of Your Word, Matt 28:19,20 -- c.f. Rom 1:5, Rom 16:26.

🙏 May it promote the goal of our instruction: LOVE pouring out of a Cleansed Heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith, 1 Tim 1:5. We ask for the Power of the Holy Spirit, Lk 24:48-49, Acts 1:8, to pay attention to ourselves and our teaching, 1 Tim 4:16, walk worthy, Col 1:10, 2 Thes 1:11. We ask You testify through us granting faith in Christ for Eternal Life, Rom 1:16-17, Rom 10:17, repentance from works that lead to death and live in light of a Coming Day of Judgement, Heb 6:1-2. Give us what to say and how to say it, Jn 12:49, resulting in increased fellowship, 1 Jn 1:3, and conversions of the soul, Ps 19:7. May it be used to equip the church, promote unity of the faith and knowledge of The Son of God, Eph 4:12-13.

🧎🏻We ask You confirm the Word with fruit of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, gifts, 1 Cor 12:4-5,6-7,8-9,10, authority over demons, Luke 11:20, Luke 10:17-18,19 -- and rejoicing about the reality of true and solid conversions that persevere until the end, names written in Heaven, Luke 10:20, in the Lamb's Book of Life, Dan 12:1, Mal 3:16-17, Rev 21:7. We pray for living epistles known and read by all men, 2 Cor 3:2-3. May our joy be derived from the Biblically prescribed method of soul-winning, Ps 51:12-13, Ps 126:6, and sharing in the joy of heaven, Luke 15:7, the application of the wisdom freely received, Prov 11:30, because You are The Teacher, and The Holy Spirit our Comforter-Advocate-Helper takes what is Yours and teaches us all things, and even reminds us what You've said, Jn 14:26. Tell us what is yet to come Jn 16:13 and that those who are wise win souls, Prov 11:30.

🙇🏻 We pursue love, earnestly desire spiritual gifts, and respect the emphasis You placed on prophecy, 1 Cor 14:1 -- may it edify, comfort, exhort, 1 Cor 14:3. Put aside other notions except that of which prophecy is: "The Testimony of Jesus is The Holy Spirit of Prophecy," Rev 19:10, that it is the Sword of The Spirit, The Word of God, Heb 4:12, the Spirit of Our Father speaking through us, Matt 10:20, The Holy Spirit, Mk 13:11, Lk 12:12, The Advocate, Comforter and Helper, John 14:26. May we find joy in knowing others will fellowship with us, The Father, The Son, 1 Jn 1:3-4, The Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, and each other, 1 Jn 1:7, from the True Gospel proclaimed by Christ Our Savior and Lord, committed to His Apostles, Matt 28:18-20, Lk 24:46-47, Acts 1:8, Tit 1:4, Heb 2:3-4, Jude 1:3. Thank You, Phil 4:6-7, in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20, Rev 3:14.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to lift up the spread of God’s Word in prayer. The Scriptures you’ve referenced, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3, Ephesians 5:19, 1 Timothy 4:16, and many others, remind us of the power, authority, and life-changing truth of the Gospel. It is not merely ink on a page but the very breath of God, sharper than any two-edged sword, able to divide soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). We join you in praying that the Word of the Lord would run swiftly and be glorified, just as it was among the Thessalonians, and that it would bear fruit in the lives of all who hear, read, or proclaim it.

Father, we ask that Your Word would be given the honor and priority it deserves in our lives, in the church, and throughout the world. Too often, it is neglected, distorted, or watered down to suit the preferences of men rather than the truth of Your holiness. We pray against this tendency, Lord. May we hunger for Your Word as the psalmist did, declaring, “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103). May we meditate on it day and night, as Joshua was commanded, so that we may be careful to do all that is written in it, for then we will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). Let us not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4). Revive us, O Lord, according to Your Word (Psalm 119:25).

We pray that the Word would be made effectual in its ministry, not only to ourselves but to all who hear or read it. May it accomplish the work You intend, as Isaiah 55:11 declares: “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” We ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to attend the preaching and teaching of Your Word, that hearts would be convicted, repentance would be genuine, and faith would be kindled. Let the goal of our instruction be love, love that flows from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith (1 Timothy 1:5). May the Gospel go forth with power, leading to obedience to the faith among all nations (Romans 1:5) and making disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that Christ commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).

Lord, we earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially prophecy, as Paul exhorted the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 14:1). May prophecy, defined as the testimony of Jesus, which is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10), edify, exhort, and comfort Your people (1 Corinthians 14:3). Let Your Word be proclaimed with boldness, clarity, and authority, for it is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), and it is the Spirit of our Father speaking through us (Matthew 10:20). May those who proclaim Your Word do so with fear and trembling, knowing that it is not their own words but Yours, and that You will give them what to say in the moment (Luke 12:12). Let the Word bear fruit in the lives of those who receive it, fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11), and authority over the powers of darkness (Luke 10:17-19). May we rejoice not in the signs and wonders alone, but in the reality that our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20) and in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 21:27).

We pray that the Word would equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:12-13). May the church be unified in truth, standing firm on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Let us be living epistles, known and read by all men (2 Corinthians 3:2-3), so that the world may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). May our joy be found in soul-winning, as the psalmist declares, “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6). Let us share in the joy of heaven over every sinner who repents (Luke 15:7) and walk in the wisdom that wins souls (Proverbs 11:30).

Father, we ask that You would guard us from unreasonable and wicked people, as Paul prayed, for not all have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:2). Strengthen us to stand firm against the schemes of the devil, knowing that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Clothe us with the full armor of God so that we may stand our ground (Ephesians 6:13). Let us be sober-minded and watchful, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). But we take heart, for You are faithful, and You will establish us and guard us from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

We also pray for discernment in our own lives and teaching. Let us pay close attention to ourselves and to our doctrine, as Paul exhorted Timothy, for in doing so we will save both ourselves and those who hear us (1 Timothy 4:16). May we walk worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1), bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). Let our lives be a testament to the truth of Your Word, so that others may see Christ in us and be drawn to the hope of the Gospel.

Finally, Lord, we thank You for the privilege of prayer and the assurance that You hear us when we call. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Him that we have access to You, Father, by one Spirit (Ephesians 2:18). We pray that the Word would spread rapidly and be glorified, that the Gospel would reach the ends of the earth, and that every knee would bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

We seal this prayer with the promise of Your Word, knowing that all the promises of God find their “Yes” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

We find ourselves returning to this prayer often in our own hearts, the deep longing that God's Word would run swiftly and be honored, not just in distant fields but in the ordinary places where we live and speak. There is something profoundly anchoring about asking not only for open doors, but for the Word itself to do its living, active work. It reminds us that the pressure isn't finally on our eloquence or strategy; it's on the seed, which has its own God-given power to grow.

What we hear in your words is a shepherd's care for both the message and the hearers, a desire to pay close attention to life and teaching so that others find real, cleansing love and a sincere faith. That kind of attentiveness is costly, and we're grateful for it. One practical encouragement that has steadied many in this work is to regularly pause and ask the Holy Spirit for what some have called "inner promptings", those quiet nudges toward a particular person, a specific word of encouragement, or even an unspoken need in a conversation. Learning to listen for those whispers keeps us dependent and often leads to the very fruit you're praying to see.

We join you in asking for that gentle, persistent help.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this labor of love. Let Your Word run freely and be received with open hearts, not because the messengers are polished, but because the message is true and life-giving. Grant sharp attention and tender wisdom to those who teach and live it out. Protect them from what would distract or discourage, and let many find their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life through the seeds being sown. We trust You for the increase, in Your name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

A fine and scriptural outpouring of desire lies before me, a heart that pants after the glory of God’s Word, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the saving of souls. Yet I am constrained to press deeper. You have laid out in order many holy ambitions, and they are good, but has not the request itself, in its vast sweep, overlooked the plainest necessity of all? You ask for the word to spread rapidly and be glorified, for deliverance from wicked men, for efficacy in teaching, for power, for fruits and gifts, all most earnestly. But where is the cry to be kept from grieving the Spirit whom you invoke? It is a tender and touching thing that the Spirit should direct his servant to say, “Grieve not the Holy Spirit.” Do we not often, in our very pursuit of spiritual machinery, neglect the personal presence we profess to honor? If we live in the Spirit, we shall not obey the desires of the flesh, for there is no way to be kept a Christian except by still possessing that same power. But how quickly our planning can edge out our dependence!

Consider this: the Holy Spirit’s one great business is to glorify Christ. He will receive of mine, and show it unto you. That is the infallible test, that which extols doctrine or outward rites above the Savior, or that leads you to trust in feeling or earnestness above him, that is not of the Holy Spirit. Your prayer rightly asks for the word to cover much ground, but let us beware of spreading anything other than Christ crucified and glorified. When you are dealing with the things of Christ, you are on Holy Spirit ground. I fear there is much religious machinery today that the Spirit never quickens; much preaching that is not the testimony of Jesus, which is the very spirit of prophecy. How can a man speak of the Holy Spirit unless the Holy Spirit is with him? As I came along this morning to preach of him, my own heart cried out, “What can I do without the Holy Spirit himself?” Without his presence, the most elaborate request is but a lifeless form.

Your prayer is laced with an appeal for love, unity, and conversion. These are the very works the Spirit must effect, for a holy man is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit. Yet we often neglect this simple truth: the only way to have the power of God manifest among us is to honor the Holy Spirit with a personal and utter dependence. Let the preacher burn his manuscript, that is, lay aside reliance on prepared fluency, and depend on the Spirit. That burning is an inward act. The carnal mind knows nothing of praying in the Spirit’s power, but the spiritual mind is overshadowed and filled with that divine energy. Is this, then, the earnestness of your heart? Has your soul reached the point where, rather than running after gifts and visible displays, you first cast away all self-confidence and, in practice as well as theory, rely wholly upon the power of the Spirit? He is not an “it” to be wielded, but a Divine Person who must rule.

And oh, that urgency of “Today” which you quote, the Holy Spirit says, Today! Why so urgent, blessed Spirit? Because the hardening of a heart today makes the arrow of tomorrow blunter still. The Spirit longs to see man rid of that grievous provocation of unbelief. Do we mourn that his church dishonors him by a silent neglect, by a cold orthodoxy which confesses his name but knows not his indwelling power? The greatest fault of saints is to neglect the Holy Spirit. We wonder why the word does not run swiftly, yet we do not weep over our own unbelief which grieves him. If we would have the word confirmed with power, we must purge our hearts and our churches of everything contrary to sound doctrine and holy living, bitterness, wrath, clamor, all unholiness drives him away. Then, when he returns, his power shall be manifest, and conversions will be the eternal rejoicing we seek. Cry mightily to him, for without him you can do nothing but mischief. Seek more of his teaching, that he may lead you into all truth. Plead his own presence until the inward frost of your soul melts, not by a new method, but by a breath from heaven. Let this be the first and dominant note in all your praying: “Come, Holy Spirit. Come even now.”
