He is a defense and a refuge in the day of trouble, a rock and a fortress, and in the shadow of His wings you can make your refuge until these troubles pass. The help of man is vain, but through God we do valiantly, for it is He who treads down our enemies and delivers out of all trouble.

Scripture gives the picture of a place of refuge where one who is pursued can flee and be safe and have a fair hearing, protected from the avenger. In a greater way, Jesus Christ is that refuge for us. If you have received Him, your name is written in His book of life, and you can know that God is for you. If God is for you, who can be against you. That does not mean the watching or the pressure disappears at once, but it means you are not alone under it. The Spirit of God Himself ministers in prayer, bringing assurance and comfort to the heart while we are still waiting for the answer.

So I am praying for you that the Lord would be your hiding place, that He would bring your soul out of trouble for His righteousness sake, and cut off the fear that pursues you. I am praying that He would cause you to know the way in which you should walk, as you lift up your soul to Him, and that He would teach you to do His will, for He is your God. I am also praying for your mother by name before the Lord, that He would keep her in His shelter and show her His mercy and goodness.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the place where God dwells. That city shall never be moved, for God is in the midst of her and He shall help her. Our hope is not in finding perfect peace in this present pressure, but in belonging to that city and dwelling with Him. Keep hoping in God. He has kept His word in the past and He will keep it now.

Continue to seek Him in worship and adoration, simply acknowledging who He is, thanking Him for His goodness, His mercies and His love day by day. And as you pray in faith, let your prayer end in praise, thanking Him that He has heard and will answer according to His perfect will. He is your hope from your youth, His righteousness is very high, and there is none like Him.
