We join with you in seeking the wisdom and discernment that come only from the Lord, for it is written, "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6 WEB). Your prayer reflects a deep desire to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, and we stand with you in this pursuit. The Scriptures remind us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB). We too ask the Father to fill us with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that we may live lives that bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God.
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, humbly seeking Your guidance and wisdom. Fill us with the knowledge of Your will, that we may walk in a manner worthy of You, pleasing You in all respects. Strengthen us with all power according to the might of Your glory, so that we may have steadfastness and patience, joyously giving thanks to You. Lord, we ask that our love may abound still more and more in true knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10 WEB). Lead us, O Good Shepherd, and let us hear Your voice, for Your sheep know Your voice, and they follow You (John 10:4, 27 WEB). Restore our souls and guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3 WEB).
We also lift up the need for protection from temptation, sin, and evil. Father, we ask that You deliver us from evil and keep us from the evil one, just as Jesus prayed, "I do not ask that You would take them from the world, but that You would keep them from the evil one" (John 17:15 WEB). Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13 WEB). We pray that no wrong may be found in us, and that we may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12 WEB). Guard our hearts and minds, Lord, and let no sin take root in us. Help us to resist the devil, knowing that he flees from those who submit to You and resist him (James 4:7 WEB).
We are grateful for the angels You have sent to minister to us, for they are "all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation" (Hebrews 1:14 WEB). Thank You for their protection and care, as it is written, "He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:11-12 WEB).
Lord, we also acknowledge that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5 WEB). We need Your Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and to lead us in the paths of righteousness. For it is written, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God" (Romans 8:14 WEB). We surrender our wills to Yours, asking that You align our desires with Your perfect will. Help us to trust in You with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, acknowledging You in all our ways so that You may direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). It is through His name alone that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. We thank You for the assurance that whatever we ask in His name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14 WEB). May Your will be done in our lives, and may we bring glory to Your name in all that we do. Amen.
