We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to seek Your face and intercede for wisdom, discernment, and knowledge of Your perfect will. Your Word reminds us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." So we boldly ask, Father, that You fill us with Your wisdom, not as the world gives, but as only You can provide—pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy.
We echo the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9-12, asking that we may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Lord, we long to walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every respect, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of You. Strengthen us with all power according to the might of Your glory, so that we may have endurance and patience with joy. We joyously give thanks to You, Father, for qualifying us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. What a glorious promise You have given us!
Father, we also lift up the prayer in Philippians 1:9-10, that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent. Help us to perceive what is best, that we may be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ. We do not want to be swayed by the fleeting desires of this world, but to stand firmly on the foundation of Your truth. Guide our steps in paths of righteousness and justice, as Proverbs 8:20 declares, so that we may walk in the ways of Your heart.
We thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth. As Your children, we are called to be led by the Spirit, for "as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God" (Romans 8:14). Lord, we ask that You sharpen our spiritual ears to hear the voice of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who calls us by name and leads us out (John 10:4-5, 27). May we never stray from His side, but follow closely, trusting in His guidance and provision.
We are grateful for the ministry of Your holy angels, who are sent forth to render service for our sake (Hebrews 1:14). Thank You for their protection and care, as Psalm 91:10-11 assures us that no harm will befall us, nor any plague come near our dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways. We trust in Your protection, Lord, and ask that You keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil, as we pray in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:13). Guard our hearts and minds from the schemes of the evil one and the influence of evil people, for we know that "the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one" (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
Father, we ask for Your favor to surround us like a shield (Psalm 5:12), and we thank You in advance for the answers to our prayers, knowing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Mark 11:24). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). We hold fast to the promise that all Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Lord, we confess that without You, we can do nothing. We need Your wisdom to navigate the complexities of life, Your discernment to choose what is best, and Your strength to walk in Your will. We repent of any areas in our lives where we have relied on our own understanding or sought the approval of the world rather than Yours. Forgive us, Father, and renew our minds to align with Your truth. Help us to stand perfectly assured in Your will, as Colossians 4:12 encourages us, so that we may live lives that bring glory and honor to Your name.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His blood that we are made righteous in Your sight. We thank You for the gift of salvation and the privilege to come before Your throne with boldness, knowing that we are Your beloved children.
May we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
