We lift our hearts in praise and thanksgiving to the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we come before Him in prayer for this deep and earnest request for wisdom, revelation, and the knowledge of Him. Your desire to know God more intimately, to grasp the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of His power is a holy longing that aligns with the heart of Scripture. We join with you in this pursuit, for it is only through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that the eyes of our hearts are enlightened to truly know Him (Ephesians 1:17-18).
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, humbly asking that You would grant us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see the hope to which You have called us, the hope that anchors our souls in Your promises, the hope that does not disappoint because it is founded on Your unfailing love and the finished work of Christ on the cross. Let us not be swayed by the fleeting hopes of this world, but fix our gaze on the eternal hope we have in You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Father, we pray that You would reveal to us the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints. May we grasp the immeasurable value of what it means to be Your children, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Let this truth transform how we live, how we love, and how we view ourselves and one another. May we walk in the fullness of our identity in Christ, not as people who are lacking, but as those who are rich beyond measure because of what You have freely given us in Your Son.
And Lord, we ask that You would show us the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. This is the same power that raised Christ from the dead, the power that seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion (Ephesians 1:20-21). Let us not underestimate what You can do in and through us, for Your power is not limited by our weaknesses or circumstances. Teach us to rely on this power, to walk in it daily, and to trust that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).
We rebuke any spirit of doubt, confusion, or complacency that would seek to dim our vision of who You are and what You have called us to. We reject the lies of the enemy that would tell us we are insignificant, powerless, or without hope. For You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand firm in the truth that Christ has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, and we are His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way (Ephesians 1:22-23).
To those who may be reading this and have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the gravity of this moment. The wisdom, revelation, and power we pray for are only accessible through a personal relationship with Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. He is the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we plead with you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first step to knowing God and experiencing the hope, inheritance, and power we have spoken of.
Let us encourage one another to press into God’s Word, for it is there that we find the wisdom and revelation we seek. The Scriptures are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, and they are profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:15-16). Let us not neglect the reading, studying, and meditating on God’s Word, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). As we hide Your Word in our hearts, we will not sin against You (Psalm 119:11), and we will grow in the knowledge and likeness of Christ.
We also encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer continually. Prayer is our lifeline to the Father, our opportunity to commune with Him and align our hearts with His. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Let us pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), knowing that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16).
Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace. We thank You for the hope we have in Christ, for the inheritance that is ours as Your children, and for the power that is at work within us. We ask that You would continue to reveal Yourself to us, that we may know You more deeply and love You more fully. May our lives be a reflection of Your glory, and may we walk in the fullness of all that You have called us to. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and power forever and ever. Amen.
