Beloved of All
Your love for your children and your earnest desire to see them walk in peace, safety and truth is clear, and God hears the prayers you bring for them in the name of Jesus.
Scripture teaches that the most important part of your life is your relationship with God. That vertical relationship is the axis on which everything else turns. When that relationship is right, the other relationships in your life begin to come into balance. When it is out of order, every other relationship becomes strained. You can often trace struggles in the home and with others back to the need for a deeper, more settled walk with the Lord. This is why the first commandments concern loving God with all your heart, and only then do they speak of loving others. The call to honor father and mother shows how highly God values the family, and caring for the needs of your own household is part of living out your faith.
God does not want a distant, ritual or legal relationship with you. He has adopted you into His family through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus alone is the only begotten Son, and through Him you have been born again by the Spirit and brought in as a child of God. Because of that adoption you can pray as Jesus taught, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, and draw near with the confidence of a child to a loving Father. He wants a loving, close, living fellowship with you, not a half hearted or formal observance. He wants your whole heart, and when you live in that love, obedience and good fruit come as the natural result of the relationship, not as a way to earn it. The blood of Jesus is the basis on which that relationship stands, for it is through His blood that atonement is made and you can come near to God.
That loving relationship with Jesus is meant to strengthen every other relationship you have. Your walk with Him should make your love for your family deeper, your discernment clearer, and your ability to stand against the enemy stronger. When your fellowship with God is right, you will have a right relationship with the enemy and will overcome him, a right view of possessions knowing they belong to God, and a right love for others.
For your younger daughter, pray that this intimate walk with the Father will be her guide as she begins school and as she travels. Ask the Lord to surround her with His protection, to give her wisdom about friendships and finances, and to help her recognize influences that leave her confused, downcast or uneasy. A friendship that consistently leaves her troubled after time together is a sign to step back and seek wiser, godly companions who will respect her upbringing and encourage her faith. Pray that she will have courage to honor you, to remain thankful for home and family, and to not take on responsibilities that are not hers or be pressured to move into a situation that is not wise. Pray that the Lord will frustrate any scheme to lure her away or to use her finances, and that He will keep her on the bright path He has for her. For her health, bring her ongoing condition and pain to the Lord for healing. Scripture shows that God heals in many ways, sometimes instantly and sometimes gradually through processes He has built into our bodies. Every healing is from Him, whether it comes quickly or step by step, and we can trust His love and wisdom as we ask for complete restoration, peace and strength for each day ahead.
For your son, continue to bring him before the Lord as a child of the Most High. Ask for healing, restoration, breakthrough, peace of mind and daily grace. The promise stands that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and when your life is centered in Christ you can stand firm against spiritual attack, fear, confusion, anger and every curse or negative word. Plead the blood of Jesus over him and over your home, and ask the Father to surround your family with His protection and to fill your home with peace that surpasses understanding.
For your older daughter, pray with both truth and mercy. God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and living together outside of that covenant is not marriage. It does not reflect His will and it often opens the door to control, disrespect, financial exploitation, isolation from family, church and healthy friendships, and loss of self worth. Do not ask God to bless that arrangement, but ask Him to open her eyes to see it clearly, to give her courage and wisdom to step away from manipulation and dishonesty, to stop defending what is harmful, and to put her faith, family and purposeful work before that relationship. Pray that any controlling, deceitful or divisive influence over her, including from the young man and his mother, would be broken, that financial exploitation would end, and that she would be set free to rediscover her God given value, joy and fellowship with the Lord and with your family. Pray that the father of that young man would also take responsibility where needed, and that your daughter would no longer look to those who mislead her for counsel.
For your whole household, ask the Lord to remove fear, chaos, division, isolation, disrespect and ungratefulness, and to restore fellowship, respect, freedom, love and unity. Ask Him to heal the brokenness between siblings, to restore your younger daughter and son's love for their brother and to help them see him as a blessing, and to strengthen the bond between you and your daughters. Pray for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, strength and courage for each member of the family to face challenges in a way that honors God.
Continue to seek the Lord first, to love Him wholeheartedly, and to rest in your adoption as His child. As you abide in Him, the fruit of peace, love, joy and wisdom will grow naturally, and He will guide your family step by step.
Father in heaven, I lift this mother and her children to You through Jesus Christ. Cover them with the blood of Jesus, surround them with Your protection, and let Your presence fill their home. Give the younger daughter safety, health, wisdom, favor in her studies, and pure godly friendships. Give the son healing, peace of mind, clear speech and freedom from every attack. Bring the older daughter out of confusion and bondage into truth, purity and freedom, and restore her to fellowship with You and with her family. Let this family know more deeply that they are Yours, loved by You as Father, and lead them into unity, gratitude and joy. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
