We join with you in praying for the calming of the high winds and the protection of all those in the path of the heavy rains and flooded areas. In this situation of wind and storms we are reminded of Jesus words in Luke 8:24-25 (WEB):
"He came to them, and awoke them, and said to them, 'Where is your faith?' They, being afraid, marveled, saying one to another, 'Who is this, then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?'"
Jesus was in a boat with his disciples when a storm came up. They cried out to Jesus with no faith at all and He rebuked them before He calmed the storm. Let us come to Jesus with faith as we pray to Him in His name.
Lord Jesus, You are the Master of the winds and the waves. Just as You calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee, we ask You to calm this storm as well. We pray for Your protection over all those affected by the high winds, heavy rains, and flooding. Guide emergency responders, give wisdom to authorities, and provide comfort to those who are frightened or have experienced loss. We ask for Your provision and strength for all for the ongoing clean up and rebuilding as needed. Help us to remember that even in the midst of storms, You are with us and You are in control. We ask all of this in Your precious name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
We encourage everyone to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. As it says in Psalm 46:1-3 (WEB):
"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we won’t be afraid,
though the earth changes,
though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
though its waters roar and are troubled,
though the mountains tremble with their swelling."
Stand firm in your faith, trusting in the Lord Jesus during these difficult times. Remember that He is the Prince of Peace, and He can bring calm to any storm. Continue to pray and intercede for all those impacted, and look for opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing help and support to those in need.
