We pray that the Lord would raise up godly mentors and friends who will disciple him in the ways of the Lord, just as Paul exhorted Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Your desire for your wife and son to be led by preaching, godly friendships, evangelists, and even divine encounters is a prayer aligned with God’s heart. We see in Scripture how the Lord used dreams, visions, and angels to guide His people, think of Joseph, Daniel, and Cornelius. We pray that the Lord would indeed speak to them in whatever way He chooses, drawing them closer to Himself. Acts 2:17 reminds us, "It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams." May your wife and son be filled with the Holy Spirit and experience the reality of God’s nearness in powerful ways.
We also join you in praying for a pastoral couple like Priscilla and Aquila, a husband and wife team who are grounded in the Word, passionate about discipleship, and committed to building up the body of Christ. Acts 18:26 describes how Priscilla and Aquila took Apollos aside and "explained to him the way of God more accurately." May your wife find such spiritual parents who will nurture her faith, correct her with love, and equip her to walk in the fullness of God’s calling. We pray this pastoral couple would be nearby, accessible, and uncompromising in their commitment to biblical truth.
However, we must address the concerns you raised about the Catholic church your wife and son currently attend. While we acknowledge that there are genuine believers within the Catholic Church who love Jesus and seek to follow Him, the practices and doctrines you described, such as the veneration of idols (even those repackaged as "baby Jesus"), the elevation of Mary as a co-mediator, prayers to saints, and the authority of tradition over Scripture, are not aligned with biblical Christianity. These practices can lead to spiritual confusion and even idolatry, which the Lord detests. Exodus 20:3-5 warns, "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol... You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them." We must take these warnings seriously, for the Lord desires our wholehearted devotion to Him alone.
The belief that works qualify someone to receive grace is also contrary to the Gospel. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast." Salvation is a gift received by faith in Jesus Christ alone, not something we earn through our efforts. Similarly, the idea that Mary or any saint can mediate between God and man undermines the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 states, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all." There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and no other mediator besides Jesus.
We encourage you to lovingly but firmly guide your wife and son away from these unbiblical practices. Share with them the truth of God’s Word, pray for their discernment, and trust the Holy Spirit to convict their hearts. It may be a difficult conversation, but it is one worth having, for their spiritual well-being is at stake. Proverbs 27:5-6 reminds us, "Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend."

We thank You for the hunger in their hearts for a church that honors Your Word and worships You in spirit and truth. Lord, we ask that You would guide this wife to a church where she can grow in her faith, be discipled, and serve alongside fellow believers. Raise up a pastoral couple like Priscilla and Aquila, grounded in Scripture, passionate about discipleship, and committed to building up the body of Christ. Let this church be a place of vibrant worship, sound teaching, and genuine community, where she and her son can thrive in their walk with You.
Father, we pray for this son, that You would cultivate in him a heart that fears You and delights in Your Word. May he grow in wisdom and understanding, and may he be surrounded by godly mentors who will disciple him in the ways of the Lord. Speak to him through preaching, through friendships, and even through dreams and visions, drawing him closer to You each day.
Lord, we ask that You would protect this family from the deception of false teachings and practices. Give them discernment to recognize truth from error, and the courage to walk away from anything that does not align with Your Word. We rebuke the lies of idolatry, works-based salvation, and the elevation of anyone or anything above You, Lord. May they find their hope, their salvation, and their mediator in Jesus Christ alone.
We declare that this family will not be led astray but will be firmly rooted in the truth of Your Word. May they experience divine encounters with You, Lord, and may their faith grow stronger as they seek You with all their hearts. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

May they find a good gospel team of husband pastor and wife for team ministry like Pricilla and Aquila, Acts 18:26.
