Why does my family lie to me? They keep telling me I'm handsome and yet women tend to go the other way when they see me. I'm ugly. I wish I was more attractive. :bawling: No wonder I can't get any dates.

Don't say that about yourself! In your families eyes you are handsome and in God's eyes you are perfect!! Give it time and you will meet the perfect woman you are suppose to be with! I believe there is someone for everyone we just have to be patient. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

God does not make mistakes. You are not "ugly". You may be giving off a overly needy vibe. If people "are trying too hard" others can pick up on it. It seems unnatural. Relax, be yourself and the right people will find you, male and female. When you are relaxed, you will be more likely to attract real friends and a real prospective date, girlfriend, future wife. Stop "looking for a date". You may not realize how it appears to others. I get nervous if guys approach me a certain way. They may even be attractive but sometimes if they are acting weird I don't know how to deal with it so I go the other direction.

The word of God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, when you meet someone new just smile and say hello, do not be overly anxious because that makes some people nervous and they run the other way. Love takes time and it might find YOU if you stop looking and start being happy right where you are now. Blessings!

Why don't you take some "marriage-stress-free holidays"? During this Christmas time, pray once with all your heart, giving to the Lord your dear wish for a happy marriage, then ... leave it all in His hands! Stop thinking about marriage, just enjoy being with family, friends, presents, be of good company, like a follower of Jesus in every day life, just "smile and say hello", "relax and stop looking for a date", let "your heart grow in Christ", as all these kinds of Prayer Warriors rightly say - relax and trust the Lord (and yourself )!

I would relax and have a good time. Also, stop worrying and work on your confidence. I used to have low confidence and no one wanted to date me and that was something that I started to work on and things got so much better.
