Why doesn't God want to help me? I am saved, been baptized and even taught Sunday school for years. I used to sing in the choir, help with Bible school, the Youth group, the drama group and mind the nursery.

For the past few years it has been nothing but one financial or medical blow after another. I nearly died giving birth and my baby almost died. I lost my job. Bills piled up and though I prayed without fail it was all ignored. I lost my house to foreclosure and had to move. All my friends and neighbors and yes even my church family turned their backs on me just when I needed them most.

Still here I am - I've been praying for a miracle for months now and have only gotten deeper into the financial hole. I got a disconnect notice today from the electric company and have no way to meet their deadline. My heart has finally broken and I am giving up on God ever helping me. I don't think I can even show my face again in the house of God. The hardest part is hearing all the other wonderful things that God is doing in other people's lives and not knowing why He doesn't help me too.

I wish I could do something more tangible other that say that I am praying for you and asking God to deliver you from your times of trial. Do not lose your faith in God because He is there working for you. I too struggle with faith many times (daily even), but God moves in strange, subtle ways....sometimes you don't even realize what He is doing. Seek help from your electric company. They usually have programs to assist people going through difficult financial times. God will provide a way for you to help deliver yourself. I am praying that the wonderful things are going to begin happening for you.

I'm sure you are familiar with the book of Job. I believe it is there for a reason. Please do not doubt God. Surrender your life to Him, let go of anything that hinders your walk with Him or places negative thoughts in your mind. Praise Him for every good thing rather than dwelling on the bad. Tho' He allows both for the molding and shaping of our character. If your attitude is suffering ask Him to change Your heart that You might see things through His eternal perspective and trust Him even when He does not reveal all of the why's to you. He will honor that. And if you never see your reward for your faithfulness here on earth you most certainly will when you reach eternity. And that will last forever! Your present sufferings will seem like a blink of an eye as you reap the rewards of your faithfulness in the presence of the King.

For my thoughts are not your+ thoughts, neither are your+ ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your+ ways, and my thoughts than your+ thoughts.

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified with [him]. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

I can relate to your feelings of abandonment.I have been turned away from by friends and family, in my darkest hour also. My "dark night" has been many many years long. But I believe the end of the tunnel WILL come and joy WILL COME! He promises it will! I think we are like rose petals being crushed, to see what will come out~bitterness, or perfume? Do not lose hope! His clock is very different than ours!Continue to PRAISE HIM in the face of the tormenting demons."The battle is mine" says the Lord. Tell Him you love and trust Him. (adhere to, cling to, rely upon) He is Faithful!
