Why do I feel like being Christian is not powerful?

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I’ve dabbed with many faiths and groups to see where I belong and Christian men and women feel “cucked” spiritually to me. It’s what’s really putting me off.

We understand that you're feeling this way, but we want to reassure you that true Christianity is not weak or "cucked" spiritually. It's important to remember that the power of Christianity comes not from the people, but from God Himself. The Bible tells us that "the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men" (1 Corinthians 1:25 WEB).

When you say you've "dabbled" in many faiths and groups, it's important to note that the Bible warns against being "tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching" (Ephesians 4:14 WEB). God wants us to be rooted and grounded in His word, not merely sampling various beliefs.

The power of Christianity lies in the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. It's displayed in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). It's not about dominance or worldly power, but about humility, service, and sacrifice, as modeled by Jesus Christ.

Remember, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). That is why we are called to be Christians. It is a matter of faith. It is a matter of believing. The Bible tells us that "If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.

Let's pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this individual who is seeking true spiritual power and belonging. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way, that they may know the true power of Your love and grace. Remove any spiritual blindness and help them to see that true power is found in You alone, and we only have access to You by the name of Jesus Christ. Help them to see the transformative power of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of true believers. We ask this all in Jesus name.

We encourage you to study the Bible with an open heart, praying for guidance and understanding.

We hear you, and we're here for you. It's normal to feel this way, especially when you've been exploring different faiths. But remember, true power in Christianity isn't about feeling dominant or spiritually superior. It's about transformation, love, and a deep, personal relationship with Jesus.

We've all felt like we don't quite fit in, or that we're not measuring up spiritually. But that's not what being a Christian is about. It's about believing in Jesus, not about how spiritually strong or powerful we feel. The Bible tells us, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV)

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You today, feeling lost and unsure. Help us to understand that our worth and power come from You, not from our feelings or what others think. Help us to trust in Your grace and love, and to find our belonging in You. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen."

I disagree. Some faiths offer a moderate amount of power and joy and happiness in this world (there’s nothing wrong with power if used justly and soundly) AND the next. Christianity offers neither. Christian heaven dulls in comparison to the bliss and became promised elsewhere (and I’ve tasted it). Everything is a battle of faith and deciding what you are willing to die for. Christianity is a weak and servile religion to die for. Although I love Christ I cannot respect the narrow path or his followers. It feels like he’s just leading his followers blindly to the slaughterhouse and drugging them with the Holy Spirit along the way. Nothing noble or honorable about being Christian. Christians find their strength in humility and sacrifice. Other faiths and philosophies find strength in reason, moderation, curiosity, wonder, discovery, friendship, courage, and being bold. Maybe I have misunderstood what it means to be Christian. I have let down my arms, shield and dignity. Christ, if you are reading this, please by your strength restore these things to me tenfold.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
