Whom should I date???

This is a question so many single Christians ask the pastor. He has to deal with who, where and what to say to them. But the question remains... Who is the right person for my life?

A. The ones who cuddles me and loves me till death do us part.
B. He will never ever cheat on you.
C. He will touch your feelings and make you smile.
D. Responds promtly to your text when you are away.
E. Surprises you with flowers and chocolate chips.
F. He never gets angry on any issue.
G. I can be easy and feel so happy with him.

Those are wonderful qualities for those who are dating of want to date anyone. But they forgot the most important qualities of a person should have.

1. The person you will date should love the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul.
2. Love children and teach them Gods word.
3. Serve the Lord in your church as a deacon, usher or at least sing in the choir.
4. If he or she loves Jesus a lot then, he will love you too.

Remember what Gods word says to everyone who is thinking or having a date. Speaking one to another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord. Eph. 5.19

Unfortunately I married a person who has none of these qualities, now I know why can't my husband love me and that's why we fight. I always loved God and was active in church since very young age but I think my faith was still small, I should have prayed and asked God's will on my marriage. My troubled marriage thought me that I should pray before I take any important decision in my life. Now I tell my children to pray before they do anything. Please pray that God forgive me and change my husband to love the Lord and his wife and kids unconditionally.

Tell your children, the future generation who are growing up, to ask the Lord in prayer who the next date will be in your life. Jesus will clearly show them who that person will be. Their future depends on the Lord. How much we trust Him, and how much we believe His word.

All children should do that then there won't be divorces and stress, only if people change later in their lives.

Tricia I don't understand your comment, can you give an example? What do you mean by next date?

I think (not sure) Tricia meant, pray to the Lord before you start dating or marrying someone. Then God will lead you to the right person. In my opinion how hard we look still won't be able to find the right person because we do not have the knowledge or wisdom.

I would add "one who shares Christ with others," "has a prayer life and spends time reading the Bible," and "has time in fellowship with other Christian men" to merely serving in church -- most every evangelistic tract I have ever read had 5 things to do once you prayed and received Christ. Again these were the common infant stages of a Christian in most tracts from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 1980s...

1) Spend time each day praying and worshipping God
2) Daily read the Bible (Begin with the Gospel of John)
3) Find a church that teaches the Bible as 100% the Word of God & encourages a personal relationship w/Jesus
4) Begin to develop friendships with sincere Christians
5) Tell others about your new relationship with God

I wish I knew all theses pre check conditions before I got married. I am happy at least I got to know more about God and how to look for spouse before my children get married.
