Whom shall I send asks the Lord? Here am I, send me,! Isaiah 6:8. Yes, O Lord here am I, send me to where few will go. Send me to the hungry, to the thirsty, to the naked, to the stranger, to the sick, and to the imprisoned, Matthew 25:31-46. When I return to my city, send me to the homeless, to the abused, to the neglected, to the lonely, to the outcast of society. When I return to my city, may Your anointing of Your Holy Spirit rest upon me, with Your Word hidden in my heart, and good news of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ on my lips. To bring about that Church of Acts 2:42-47, and 4:32-37. To see, and witness the impossible become possible. The sick be healed, the oppressed of the Devil delivered, and even to see, and witness the dead raised up. For the chosen, few, elect to live together as one having all things in common, daily in Your house, and being about our heavenly Father's business, and awaiting Your soon return in power, and great glory! Use this vessel of Your prophet to be used by the Master. In Jesus' name! Amen!

We hear your heart’s cry, a passionate offering of yourself to the Lord as His willing servant. Your desire to be sent, especially to the broken, the marginalized, and the lost, echoes the prophet Isaiah’s response to the holy call of God. "Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?' Then I said, 'Here I am. Send me!'" (Isaiah 6:8 WEB). This is a sacred posture, one that aligns with Christ’s own mission: "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10 WEB). We stand with you in this holy longing, praying that the Lord would indeed anoint you for the work ahead.

Your vision of a Church that mirrors the early believers, devoted to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer, sharing all things in common, and seeing the Lord add to their number daily (Acts 2:42-47), is a beautiful and biblical one. The Lord delights in communities that reflect His heart for unity, generosity, and radical love. We pray that He would raise up like-minded believers in your city, those who are likewise willing to lay down their lives for the sake of the gospel. "Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common" (Acts 4:32 WEB). May the Lord knit hearts together in your midst, creating a family that operates in the power of the Holy Spirit, where the impossible becomes possible, healings, deliverances, and even the raising of the dead, as you mentioned.

Yet, as we pray, we must also speak truth in love. The call to serve the least of these is not merely a social mission; it is a gospel mission. The good news of Jesus Christ must be at the center of all we do. "For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16 WEB). Without the proclamation of Christ’s death and resurrection, our works, no matter how noble, are like a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1). We encourage you to ensure that the gospel is not just assumed but boldly declared in every interaction. The hungry need bread, yes, but they also need the Bread of Life. The naked need clothing, but they also need the robe of righteousness found in Christ. The sick need healing, but they also need the Great Physician.

We also lift up a prayer of protection over you. The enemy does not take kindly to those who advance the kingdom of God. Jesus warned, "Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16 WEB). The work you are called to is spiritual warfare, and you will need the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). We pray that the Lord would guard your heart, mind, and body as you step into these places of darkness, that you would not grow weary or lose heart. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9 WEB).

Finally, we must address the mention of "the chosen, few, elect" in your prayer. While it is true that not all will respond to the gospel, we must be careful not to limit the grace of God. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB, emphasis added). The invitation is open to all, and our role is to extend it without prejudice. The Lord desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9), and we must align our hearts with His.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this brother’s willingness to say, "Here am I, send me." Lord, we ask that You would anoint him with Your Holy Spirit, filling him with power, wisdom, and boldness to proclaim the gospel to the lost and broken in his city. Equip him with Your Word, that it would be hidden in his heart and on his lips, bringing life and hope to those who hear. Raise up a community around him, a Church that reflects the love and unity of Acts 2 and 4, where believers share all things in common and no one is in need. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy, and let Your light shine through him so brightly that darkness cannot overcome it.

Father, we pray for the hungry, the thirsty, the naked, the stranger, the sick, and the imprisoned. Open our eyes to see them as You do, and give us the compassion and courage to serve them in Your name. Let the gospel be the foundation of all we do, that lives would be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. May we never grow weary in doing good, but press on with endurance, knowing that our labor in You is not in vain.

Lord, we long for the day when You will return in power and great glory. Until then, use us as Your vessels to bring healing, deliverance, and salvation to a world in desperate need of You. We surrender ourselves to Your will, asking that You would accomplish Your purposes through us. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Your prayer stirs something deep in us, a readiness to go, even to places few would choose. That kind of availability is precious in God’s kingdom, and we don’t want to let it pass without simply saying: we’re with you.

One of the most freeing things we’ve learned is that missionary work rarely begins with a dramatic sending; it begins with the person next door. The church in Acts didn’t scatter to the nations until after they had spent days together, sharing bread, praying, and caring for their own community. Your city is already the field. As you return home, the first faithful step is often the most ordinary one: showing up where the lonely, the hungry, and the neglected already gather. Maybe that’s serving at a soup kitchen, visiting a nursing home, or simply learning the names of the people who sleep outside your neighborhood. Availability opens more doors than a title ever will.

You don’t have to wait for a prophetic mantle to be a healer. Jesus promised that wherever two or three gather in His name, He is present, and healing follows. Ordinary, off-the-shelf people, fishermen, tax collectors, became the channels through which the Spirit turned the world upside down. Your willingness is the only credential He looks for.

Lord Jesus, we join this prayer: send us. For our friend returning to their city, kindle a steady fire, not just a flash of inspiration. Fill them with Your Spirit for the humble, daily work of mercy. Give them eyes to see the one person You place in front of them today. Anchor their soaring vision with feet-on-the-ground faithfulness. Use this offered life however You see best, for Your glory alone. Amen.

Such a prayer, offered with a full heart, must ascend to the throne of grace with much acceptance. Yet take heed, I beseech you, lest in the fervency of your desire you outrun the will of God. Remember that the sending is His prerogative alone; it is not for us to appoint ourselves to the office of a revivalist. Many a well-meant attempt to get up a revival has been the greatest hindrance to true godliness, for revival is not of man, neither by man, but by the Spirit of the Lord. Wait, therefore, upon the Master; cry to Him, "Wilt thou not revive us again?" and be earnest with others in secret prayer. I have often said that if but half a dozen saints were to shut themselves up and plead with God for a revival, there would be grand hopes. This is the preparation He honours, not the bustle of activity, but the lowly, believing cry for His presence.

Moreover, let us never forget that in times of revival, the vessel of Divine Grace does not run in a groove; it breaks out where it seems least likely. The sovereign wind of the Spirit bloweth where it listeth. You may desire to be sent to the outcast; that is a Christlike ambition, but be content if the Lord sends you to the lonely widow at Joppa or the eunuch on the road to Gaza, rather than to a multitude. True revival often begins in quiet corners, and the signs you long for, healings, deliverances, even the raising of the dead, are His to grant when it pleases Him, for His own glory. And mark this: the worst time often follows the excitement of a revival if it has no reality. Many a fair blossom has borne no fruit. So watch your own soul with godly jealousy, lest in seeking to bless others you yourself be a castaway.

Yet I do not dampen your fire; I would rather fan it with the fuel of wisdom. When Christ is in the vessel, He may seem to sleep, and the storm may rage, but He cares for us and will arise at the right hour. Pray on, wait on, and be ready: have your heart, your hand, your purse prepared, that when the wave of revival sweeps over, you may be carried upon its crest for His name’s sake. For it is not the conversion of men alone that is the blessed fruit, but the glory of God. To Him be all praise, now and evermore.

I see in your prayer the burning heart of one who has read the prophet's vision and longs to be sent. Yet let that very fire be tempered by wisdom, lest zeal without knowledge consume you. The Master who had compassion on the multitude, who fed them loaves and fishes, first healed their infirmities. He did not rush, nor did He send His disciples without preparation. Consider the blessed Paul, who was struck blind by light from heaven, then waited in fasting and prayer until Ananias came. He did not burst forth at once, crying, Send me! but submitted to the Church's order. His sending was a dispensation of grace, not the impulse of a moment. Beware of claiming the prophet's mantle hastily. The Seraphim covered their faces before the throne; shall we not tremble?

Your desire for the hungry, the naked, the imprisoned is holy. But look to your own city first. Are there not widows there, orphans, the lonely whose burdens you have overlooked? A man who neglects the neighbor before him while dreaming of far-off harvests deceives himself. True sending begins on your own threshold, in the ordinary duties you owe to family and to household. As for those early churches in Acts, they held all things common not by compulsion or vow, but by a flood of love that overflowed natural ownership. Yet even they retained private households and proper order, as Paul's letters to the Philippians show. Beware the snare of seeking signs and wonders for their own sake, as if the gospel needed such proofs. The greatest miracle is a sinner's repentance; the resurrection you should daily witness is your own soul rising from the death of pride.

Nor does the sending of God set aside the plain commands He has given. When you minister to the outcast, you must not count as love what Scripture calls sin. The same Lord who opened blind eyes also said, What God has joined together, let not man separate. You cannot bless what He has not blessed, or call good what His word names transgression. Hold to that narrow way, even if the world reviles you. The cross is the altar of your faith, and no servant is above his Master. Go then, but quietly. Serve, but with humility. Let your first step be to lay your boastings at the feet of Christ, that He alone may send you. Then you will find your city ready, your own life the first field of harvest. The Master calls laborers, but He does not need the clamor of self-appointment. He waits for those who, like the Apostle, say, Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do? not those who instruct heaven with their own plans.

Your readiness is a gift, but let it be shaped by the whole of Scripture rather than by the height of the vision alone. Isaiah answered only after seeing the holiness of the Lord and his own uncleanness. The cleansing came before the sending. So a heart that says send me must also be willing to be sent to the hidden, ordinary places, not only to the dramatic ones.

The desire to see the church live as in Acts is good, but the common life there was not a scheme for a select few or a way to prove spirituality. The Spirit produced gladness, prayer, steadfast teaching, and care for widows and the poor. Where hearts were freed from the love of possessions, they shared. But that same Spirit also leads you to a daily faithfulness that may look very small. Whatever God has called you to be is the highest calling for you. Waiting tables, visiting one lonely person, or praying for one widow is as much ministry as preaching if it is done as unto the Lord. Do not wait for a title or a large anointing before you start ministering.

Be careful not to set yourself apart as one of a special few. The body has many members, and not all are apostles or prophets, not all have gifts of healing. You are what you are by God's will. The call to separation is a call away from sin and idolatry, not a call to form a spiritual elite that looks down on ordinary believers.

If you want to serve the hungry, the stranger, the sick, and the imprisoned, begin where you are actually able to see them. You do not need a sign to feed one hungry person or to sit with one prisoner. The gospel on your lips will be made credible by that kind of love. Pray for the sick according to the Scripture: call for the elders, anoint with oil, and ask in the name of the Lord. But be careful with healing. Too often it has been turned into a show or used for personal gain, and suffering people have been treated as a platform. Never let the desire to see miracles become more important than the people themselves or the glory of Jesus.

The proof of ministry is not first the extraordinary. It is pureness, knowledge, longsuffering, kindness, the Holy Spirit, unfeigned love, the word of truth, the power of God, and the armor of righteousness. Work with Jesus, not ahead of him. The Spirit may close one door and open another, and being led by him means trusting his no as much as his yes.

Do not blame God if the church around you seems weak or anemic. We are often like Adam, ready to blame God for our own failures. Ask what obedience is yours to render, and be separate from sin without withdrawing from the very people you say you want to reach. You can love the outcast and still refuse the uncleanness of idolatry.

Guard your motivation. The Lord looks at why we do what we do, and the only true motivation for ministry is the love of Jesus Christ. Let that love keep you from wanting to be seen as one of a special few. The reward is not a crowd or a sign. It is seeing people walk in truth. May the Lord make you useful to the Master, with his word hidden in your heart and his love constraining you, ready for every good work until he comes.
